He really is way better than I ever imagined him to be at Inter.
At the same time, I think that if a stronger team came knocking this summer, he would run immediately. He seems to be chasing that worldwide recognition.

He can get that worldwide recognition by beating City. Nobody could deny his game then.

I was playing fifa and the amount of shit players rated higher than Barella, Bastoni, Hakan just because they are in the epl is hilarious

This is why English fans think we are a a championship type squad

To be fair they d think most of our players are not worth it anyways with fifa s ratings or without them...
Not sure what it is with EPL?england fans but they just way overhype their players and never seem to have a clue what happening outside of the EPL.
So many mediocre EPL PLayers we re sold for a shit ton of money just because even worse if they are english on top of that.
How on earth anybody ever thought it was a good idea to spend 80mio plus on fucken maguire is still a mystery to me.

They pay more cause they have more money. The fans listen to their pundits who hype players, but these pundits hype players so that they can shit on them when they don't play well. Something must be talked about.

In EPL there is also a rule about "homegrown" players. Every team must have at least 8 "homegrown players". That's one of the reasons why they overvalue players that have been a 3 years in England before their 21st birthday.

Serie A has this as well.
And it comes from UEFA.

Should be doubled really if we want more parity in the sport...

I know that Serie A has it also. Just mentioning it in context, why do English clubs overvalue players from EPL (the ones that have more than 3 years in England before 21) If Serie A clubs are rich as EPL clubs, then Italian players would be overvalued.

I thought Hakan should have been a nominee in best midfielders. Lobotka or even Anguissa, all these names should have been ahead of SMS, or even Rabiot tbh.

Barella can win it again (in competition with Rabiot and SMS), but honestly, Hakan was a far more consistent player than Barella.

Rabiot and SMS got there only because of their goal amounts. Which is a bit stupid because we're not talking about forwards here.

They even nominated Theo Hernandez in Best Defenders category

He's been garbage this season except of few matches where he made difference or wasn't complete ass, but he got away with it because he's build a reputation in this league. These awards have lost their values though.

Same shit in other leagues and also in Ballon d'Or nominations and winners.

you just praised Kovacic, who scored 5 goals in total since 2014. wtf
Comparing player that has phenomenal shot with player that never shots on goal. Way to go, way to go.

he should shoot more, as he does have a good shot, thats also why he hasn't reached his full potential yet. He's way too good for a midfielder that can dribble the ball forward and then never score goals.... Calhanoglu also played most of the season as a holding mid, especially when Brozo was injured and has not played much forward.

Was playing way too deep this season, got some nice goals disallowed as well iirc but his set pieces were crucial and not all of them were converted by his teammates. Solid season.
