Yes. I think he was okay, but his game in almost any match of the season doesn't correlate his paycheck. He's in our top5 best paid players, but his performance is totally mediocre in comparison to others.

But I give kudos to him for trying.

I thought he was OK yesterday. He didn't do much wrong and kept his passing safe. Don't understand the hate here after this game.
Where's the hate here after the game? Or you're referring to that one Candreva Crosses post?
I didn't mean it to hate but something I've been observing during his games.

The man has performed no worse than eriksen, yet eriksen was given 18 months. Inter fans want hakan gone after 8 games.

Yeah there's a point for sure. If only Sensi and Vidal could stay fucking fit, we could use Calhanoglu more as rotation option and slide him in slowly. Given he still makes starter money, but it is what it is.

Eriksen got 2m more. I'm not saying I'm happy with either performance to wage ratio, just absurd the difference between how each was treated on here. Let's give it more time.

I just don't see it working with Hakan as LCM. Especially within the formation we play in we should play with Hakan as CAM with Brozo and Barella behind him. With our 3 man defence it should work. I would rather have Hakan saves his energy for when we do have the ball and not so much without the ball. I feel the guy gets the ball at the wrong place right now. Imo he should be play closer to goal so he can be far more a thread with long shots than now. But playing him as a CAM would means the coach is have to limit Brozo or Barella and that would be a shame. Don't think we ever going to play 3-4-1-2.

And we can talk about his salary all we want (and sometimes it's justified) but Hakan didn't ask this salary with a gun in his hand. Inter could have said no to the salary bu they agree with this amount. So don't crucify a player solely based on that only if he doesn't want to work/play for Inter you can but I understand where the statement comes from.

I think he’s just a 5/10 player, who sometimes has 11/10 games and sometimes looks like me playing football on a Saturday morning after a Friday night sesh.

Sooner we accept he’s consistently inconsistent, the less insane we’ll all go.

The problem is Formation, Hakan doesn't fit 3-5-2 formation, he was best deployed at 4-2-3-1 Pioli formation which is deploy as AM.
This guy have same problem like Eriksen when he coming from Tottenham, from attacking to more centrally, which is had responsibility to defense and playmaking.

Hakan most dangerous weapon is long range shooting and set pieces, which is very hard when we deploy 3-5-2 formation.
This formation is very depended to our 2 striker and 2 wingbacks and defensive approach from midfield.

I wont throw him critics after 8 games, but if in 8 months he can't addapt, i will sell him to other teams because we need more impactfull player.

The perfect example good midfielder at 3-5-2 formation is SMS at Lazio, and the best potential player is Kessie.

He’s just not that good. Comparing him to Eriksen is laughable. If Eriksen were fit right now, he would be bossing in this system. I have zero doubts about it. But that’s just the way it is.

I’m hoping Hakan can find some sort of rhythm and at least be consistently good enough, but I have next to no hope he’ll be anything special here.

Eriksen had the credentials for that, being a CL player, dominating in EPL for years. Calhanoglu has a different pedigree so we can't compare salaries this way IMO.

He is not, but playing as mezzala makes him to look even worse. He will be much more useful if he plays more time around opposition box, where he'll be a threat due to his vision and shooting. Also, I don't think he has the stamina to run up and down constantly, without reducing his effectiveness.

I'm comparing their performance to wage. IMO hakan is offering no less than eriksen was so far for 18 months. Eriksen got every excuse under the sun though.
I'd rather eriksen was playing now by the way than hakan, I just don't understand the difference in treatment each was getting.

Yeah, he can do that running up and down, pressing, tackling. We've seen that. But that seems to hamper his effectiveness in the offensive zone. His passing is fucking terrible at times, he's not involved enough (maybe he thinks too much about the defending phase if the ball is lost idk).

This all might fix with time, let's hope it does. Because Calhanoglu has a good shot and he can pass. To me it seems like some mental thing at the moment with him.

Can anyone confirm how good Hakan's dribbling/vision/passing is in the hole / trequartista role with the NT? I don't think I've seen any stand out moments outside of shooting and set pieces.

You don't think because those moments don't exist. I explained in here 1 million times why he's trash even when he wasn't Inter player.

and yeah ! He can be Maradona if the oppenent is Gibraltar :)
