He can give a yellow. The reason is that Prijovic is being held back and he swipes his hand to get rid of the contact. It's a yellow for me.

I'm pretty confident that Serbian media won't be happy with him unless he leads the team to a World Cup trophy. There's probably also some agents with influence there that want to promote their own guys and the media is the best outlet for that shit. "As good as SMS in the World Cup" and "Better than SMS in the World Cup" etc to inflate their value.

Nope. Just double checked. You can't give yellow after VAR. I wasn't sure whether the rules for Serie A were same as for the WC. But they are. This was already thoroughly discussed here after the Vecino-Mandzukic incedent.

The thing is that previous NT coach who lead the squad through qualification was very adamant on not calling SMS. Then NT coach was dropped without any particular reason and new one was appointed (Krstajic) despite lacking experience. Public is not completely supporting of this and opinions are very divided. Objectively looking it's all corrupt and someone is definitely getting a bit of cash in return for raising SMS's price. So now you have a very overpriced yet promising player that, like you said, has to deliver above all reasonable expectations in order for public to approve of him.

For some more context, Serie A is not nearly as popular here nowadays as it was about 15 years ago. Most people here only follow EPL and CL, with some people also being into La Liga but not as much. So a lot of people didn't really catch SMS's performances this season. At the same time domestic media is really pushing him as the next best thing since sliced bread and he is getting insane amounts of headlines and coverage.
