On the wing perhaps, with one defender hounding him, but have you seen him in the middle of the park with two-three defenders on him. He's nothing special in that department really.

and i agree with Azz this season we saw astonishing finishing from our strikers i really don't think our strikers would have scored that second goal (i think Cruz and Balotelli would have and maybe Zlatan) but that 3rd goal Cruz wouldn't have been able to beat that defender like that...

I disagree, with the goals we have seen from our forwards this year I think it's ridiculous to claim our forwards wouldn't be able to do the same on their day. Do you think Villa beats his man and scores all the time? NO, neither does our forwards. Just look at Zlatan vs Sampdoria and Cska, Cruz vs Roma and vs Milan, Suazo vs Catania, Balotelli vs Atalanta, I think it was, and so on.

And the second goal most of our forwards would score at least 80% of the time. There's numerous examples of our forwards bagging the little chances they were given, just watch some match highlights.

Anyways, I agree with you that Villa is class, no doubt about it. But a hatrick doesn't make a player Maradona and all too often people on this forum go berserk after a player has a great game. It's just annoying to read 10 comments in a row saying that we should get a player because he had a great game. That didn't happen this time but it was on the way.

What a boring first half. We're doing nothing but longballs to Zlatan and the Greeks don't seem to have any intetion of winning the match as they spend more time passing it amongst their defenders. Also they are playing dirty as Ibra has been fouled several times brutally and they got away with it.

Ljungberg has been atrocious and needs to be changed for Larsson in the second.

Very careful on defense and we're trying to take advantage of every space..

Kyrgiakos is marking Zlatan exceptionaly and Charisteas a constant danger for Sweden's defence..

The great defensive tactics made Greece European champion and Otto seems to trust that formation..

Poor game by Torosidis and Gekas(so alone up front)..

It looks like that at every single Euro/world cup, but they always choke in the end.

From what I remember they weren't really good at the previous tournaments, especially in the opening games. 98: Nigeria 3-2 Spain for example, but then Spain 6-1 Bulgaria. EURO 2004 won against Russia 2:1, drew with Greece and the lost to Portugal. I belive they just don't have consistancy.

But I still have the feeling they will do really good this time, probable even till the Final.

No way that's satisfactory man......that's the most boring style of football ever its putting me to sleep and i don't mind defending but not just parking the freakin bus and passing a trillion times between the defenders...
