What a second goal by Spain!

After Holland's match yesterday, it seems obvious that counter attack football is in fashion. :p I personally adore that tactic and hopefully so will Jose. :)

Nice two goals for Villa, especially the second one. I feel bad for Russia though. I thought they played awesome for the first 20 minutes, before Villa scored. Their short passing and movement off the ball were very nice.

They actually looked better than Italy yesterday...

I don't like Charisteas from Greece, and I'd also prefer Papastathopoulos. He's only 20, but he's amongst the best Greek defenders.

Russia is a good squad, they don't have Arshavin and Pogrebnyak today, and they stood well in the first half. They can't turn things round though

Villa is the definition of a complete striker he has amazing finishing....positions himself very well and can create chances on his own.....what a striker very very impressed by his performance he has won a fan today

Amazing balance...he wasn't pushed around and didn't just throw himself and ask for a penalty or get easily pushed off

neither Torres nor Raul are over rated both are class strikers (Raul proved that i the UCL) but at the moment Villa is definetely better than both but i think his style is different than Torres but still as a striker I'd like to have Villa on y team if this is how he performs

He wasn't that impressive. He did very good but I wasn't blown away. A lot of goals but nothing special. The first two goals are were basicly just roll them into empty net, any striker or midfielder for that matter would score those. The third one was very nice though, he feinted the defencer well and fooled the keeper the wrong way. Everyone will name him as the best player so far but for me Deco has been the best.

Spain are very impressive, but Russia's non-existant defence certainly helped a lot.

Impressive Spain. Very entertaining game, although the Italy- Holland game is still my favourite so far.

Villa is obviously a great striker, but I wouldn't call him complete.

He has something he lacks... and that is height -> scoring with his head.

He is a complete striker for spanish league, that's certain, because in Spain you play short, not many crossings, and instead many direct through passes.

I don't think he would be as deadly in english and italian league, especialy english.

I have seen the best strikers mess up that close in front of the goal (The second Villa scored) I was really impressed by his movement on and off the ball and he doesn't do any of that fancy sh*t that we see strikers nowadays attempt...he scored on his chances didn't mess up at all unlike Toni...as for best player in the tournament so far mine is Van Bronkhorst

You dont need to be tall or good with your head to be a deadly striker...

The best part about Villa is his finishing really. The first two goals might have seemed easy, but aside from Cruz on a good day, all our strikers would most likely have ballooned those chances...

After a season of eye sorring shooting from our pathetic striking force its really refreshing to watch someone who good finishing for a change.

Don't forget strength and ball holding abilities, which is huge in today's football.;)
