As we have recently discussed here, I will be opening 4 separare topics for rumours, one for each position. Please post the majority of the rumours in these topics. This means that rumours such as Riquelme or Mancini or Makinwa or Alex should be discussed inside. But for persistent rumours like Cassano or Chivu, you can open separate individual topics. Should there be any official transfer, another new topic will be opened to discuss that. In the case that there is already a topic open regarding that particular player, for example, Cassano, then we will discuss in that topic but I will change the topic's title instead of opening a new one.

Also be reminded that non-related transfers should not be discussed in this topics. You can go into the European Leagues forum and discuss them in the appropriate topics.

To be fair, since this is a change, I will conduct a poll at the end of the month to see if you guys like this change or whether you want to go back to the old system or Tim's suggestion of a topic for every rumour.

Thank you very much. :)

I think we should keep Toldo as our starting GK next season.....there're a lot of good keepers that can take Toldo's place (Casillas, Buffon, Cech, etc..) but we can't get them and Toldo has been doing good lately.

I'm just scared that we could end up with Frey or Sereni for next season, no way...... I wouldn't mind De Sanctis though.
Also I think we should buy Kameni and make him 2nd goalie or loan him out for next season, and the next one he can be our starter. I have this idea cause I think he's better than J.Cesar and Carini.

And like somebody said....with a good defense (Samuel, Alex, Chivu) Toldo will look much better.

I saw some footage of Kameni. WOW. Sign him. Forget about Frey. Sign him. Sign him now. Though if that doesn't happen then I'd also like to see us sign De Sanctis. Perhaps we could offer Udinese this little package.

Recoba + Sorondo = Pizarro + De Sanctis

My plans:

1. Keep Toldo for another year.
2. Sign Kameni and loan him to a Serie A side for a year.
3. NEVER EVER THINK OF LE RAT.

I am so sure that we can get Kameni. Espaynol was tempted to accept a deal from ManU worth about $8-10M, before Glazer came. We can offer them some money and Carini/Cesar.

That's a good idea.....but we are not even linked to Kameni, something I don't understand cause Inter is one of the few big clubs looking for a world class GK (Man Utd. is out, already got Van der Sar), and Kameni certainly has the potential to become one (he's one right now actually).

If Toldo leaves, my only options to replace him are Kameni and De Sanctis.

Tel me about it man! This a golden opportunity man, GK's like him don't come cheap and without competition often. There is no big club in need of a great GK these days, but dumb and dumber don't seem interested.

As usual, they settle for half-ass solutions. I am awaiting the day they get fired or disappear.

All this talk of getting a new first team goal keeper bewilders me. Anyone who's seen Toldo's performance this season (or the last two seasons if his consistency comes under question) should be proud of his performance, especially during the latter half.If it were not for some criminal defending by Materazzi et al, Toldo would have been easily considered one of Serie A's safest keepers.

The point is, a goalie should be your last line of defence. But if your defenders are as porous as the proverbial Swiss Cheese, you can't expect him to do miracles. Instead of Toldo's exit, let's talk about getting a solid defence for next year.

Toldo is getting old, we have to look for a new GK after next year anyway. So there is no point of getting 25-year olds in Carini and Cesar, we should a player that is still young.

like Frisko said. we cant play anybody who hasnt established himself in this league and we know will have the confidence.

so no matter how good Kameni, Cesar or Carini is, they certainly are not ready yet.

The only people out there who would be ready to come to inter because they have been established and are proven goalkeepers in italy are, Frey and De Sanctis.

im sure the latter would be a dream transfer for most people, including myself.

One more year of Toldone. He's been fairly steady this season and if not for some criminally bad defending early in the season, we wouldn't even have this topic.

CD, LB and LW are the foremost concerns.

u seen Casillas last season ...... Real's defence is of serie B standards and yet he performed miracles ...... without him Real could be facing relegation from la liga ........ averaged 2-3 wonder saves a match

thats what we need ........ an inspirational gk who will pull out extraordinary saves day-in-day-out

Toldo WAS good ...... now he is good-ish , 34 , inconsistent

d earlier we recognise d fact the better it will be ......

Getting old does not equate to getting bad. Pagliuca can still walk into most Serie A sides.Van der Sar will probably be one of Man U's top performers next season. It's just naive transfer policy to kick out keeprs just because they're getting old, something I might be more sympathetic to for outfield players for obvious reasons.

As far as I'm concerned, Inter does not have a goalkeeping problem, not for this season, and not for the immediate future.

By the way, are we sure we got Julio Caesar?I remember reading something in goal.com about it but I've never seen any official verfication.

What Serie A experince is that? It's not necessary man. Cech came in and played well with Chelsea, that might not be a good example, but you know what I mean. GK's are like any other player, Serie A experience is great but not necessary.

We can't be scared and say he doens't have experience and what not. A GK's job is to save shots, what difference is it if he played in Brazil or in Italy? Not much.
