Well Carini just doesn't strike me as a keeper with strong character...

And any player making his Serie A debut would hardly be...

Character is not something you gain throught expierence its something you either have or you don't. You can see it from the start.

I could see immediately that jz,adriano, cordoba and cambiasso had that even before they made their debuts in front of the curva nord.

While others like Frey you could just see he didn't have that character needed to succeed here same goes for vampeta, silvestre, ect.

That's why character wasn't the point in my argument.

Inexperience means making mistakes - Mistakes that the Nord is not likely to tolerate from a KEEPER (one mistake from him can cost you 3 points).

And a player with character will be able to deal with that. ;)

I know what you mean Frisko, if the crowds get on a player's case they can ruin him. And I was a fan of Carini, but he seems a bit shaky for me, it will be hard for him to perform with unruly fans.

But that's why I think Kameni would be good. He is ice-cool when people are insulting him personally. I mean I think a player will go crazy if they throw banana peels on him, he still robbed Ateltico of a sure win.

So? That doesn't mean anything. If you're the starter keeper, you have to go on the pitch every 3 days and make great saves. Even if you do, just make one mistake, they won't forget that anytime soon. Consistence without experience is really rare.

Hamed, if we got Kameni as number one keeper, I wouldn't sleep for a month. I don't doubt his qualities, but his lack of experience in Serie A would be nothing less than a major worry.

Juve giving us Buffon. Hilarious. We'd have to give them an advantageous deal for them to accept. Something like Vieri and C. Zanetti plus cash for Buffon. Casillas is also out of the question. Real aren't gonna sell him. It's Kameni or bust, cause I don't want Frey.

I have repeatedly and privously said that we should get him now and loan him for a year to a Serie A side. When Toldo retires in 2 years or so, there isn't a big chance that such a great GK would be so attainable.

if u watch the last barcelona-espanyol @ barcelona home, u will see kameni skills he is really the best keeper in spain after casillas and my favourite keeper right now, but i agree with u he is too young for a better league like serie A, he is only 20, if in the next 2 years he continues like that we will have to keep a eye on him.

But Alex, I bet you he won't be available for long. We are lucky that no teams want re-inforcements this year.

But in 2 years, ManU will want a GK again, and Milan might want to replace Dida since he is well in his 30's now. We have to sign him and loan him.

sign him right now and loan him to a team of serie A like we did with cesar is the best we can do, but the problem is Kameni acept to be loaned after reach to play the Uefa cup with his team next year.

Yeah, I think he would. I heard some reports that he wants to leave La Liga.

Enough ,Frey is very inconsistent ,while Kameni is not only quite inconsistent but also only had 1 season as a professional first goalkeeper ,
due to Toldo's form in the last few monthes ,I have no doubts that Toldo should be our 1st keeper next season.

If Fontana was honest in his interview ,he will go to Mallorca in the summer ,so we're going to need a new 3rd goalie ,I wouldn't mind a true Interista like Pagliuca(who got relegated with Bologna but was the best goalkeeper in Serie A according to Gazzetta) if he would accept that role ,it might also be good to give Binrdi/Cordaz/Impagnatiello(maybe even Moreau ?) that role because they won't play a lot anyway and they might be good prospects for the future.

I also think Carini should go out on loan because he's too young to be a 2nd goalie and if we want him to be our first goalie in a few years he needs to play.
