Fabbian has started the season well in Serie B with Reggina, on loan from Inter, and i think he's worth a thread. He has started in all 6 games and he has scored 3 goals in the last 4 games.

Another goal for our kid in Reggina's loss at Perugia. He has started all matches so far.

scored for italy U20 vs Romania U20.
Fontanarosa and Zanotti also played in the game.

Ahead of Casadei in terms of development.

Ahead of Casadei in terms of development.
They’re even a few days apart age wise and they’re both goal-scoring mids. It’s a fair comparison to make.

It’s not like Casadei is doing poorly and is generally regarded as the bigger talent so we’ll see. Serie B is a higher level than Premier League 2, which isn’t even professional. So there’s definitely a case there.

What do you mean Premier League 2 isnt professional? AFAIK any player in it should be on professional terms, for example.

Exactly, that's why I'm saying he's ahead of Casadei in terms of development. Also, it's not just any Serie B side, Reggina looks bound for promotion.

That being said, there definitely seems to be more hype about Casadei, even before he went to Chelsea, but Primavera level dominance doesn't always translate to higher levels. I want to trust the club on this but the memory of Zaniolo + €35m for an old Nainggolan deal is still too fresh.

I think with Fabbian being just as good as Casadei, and unknown (maybe they see something more in him), allowed them to sell Casadei, as they kept the better player?
Unlike Bonucci/Rano where we kept the weaker of the two.

Surely our management is just as surprised with this kid as everyone else is. He didn't stand out to me at all in Primavera

It’s still youth level. They’re not playing for first squads against adults. It’s a big difference imo.

Giovanni Fabbian speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport :
From his perspective, the transition to senior football at this level has been a big one for the 19-year-old.

Of his impact so far, Fabbian said that “It’s surprised everyone a bit.”
“I’ve always believed in myself, but there’s a huge step up between playing in the Primavera compared to stepping up to playing with senior players, in terms of physicality and the tempo of play.”

Asked who his inspirations are, Fabbian named “Ibrahimovic, for his competitive spirit and ruthlessness on the pitch.”
“The midfielder who inspires me the most is Toni Kroos, even if we don’t exactly have the same characteristics,” he added.

And of the possibility of one day making the return to Inter, Fabbian said that “That’s my dream, the one I work towards every day.”
“I want to reach for the absolute highest level, to eventually find myself playing in a top European league and fighting for trophies.”

Reggina Sporting Director Massimo Taibi has confirmed that the Calabrian Serie B outfit has an option to buy Giovanni Fabbian
This according to an interview in Gazzetta del Sud, as reported by Tiforeggina.it where Reggina sporting director Massimo Taibi stated that it is too early to discuss the young midfielder’s future.

“We are pleased about the support, we tracked him for a long time and in the end, we were able to get the loan.

“It is premature to discuss his future. We will do so with Inter in June because we also have an option to buy him.

Giovanni Fabbian started his youth career with Padova, before moving to Inter Primavera squad in 2018 where he spent four years with the Nerazzurri. Fabbian has represented Italy at the Under-16 level. He was also in the Italian squad for the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, where Italy reached the semi-finals against England.
