Well, I expect things to get better by then. Spalletti will have enough time to address the issues and eventually put in a proper display in the tournament. It was crucial to qualify. Whether it was deserved or not, it's another thing but since it's job done, there's a new chapter now, in which I think better days are ahead.

I disagree with you lot, that would've been a very weak penalty call. Look at this with 0,50x playspeed from all the angles couple times and you'll see what I mean. Cristante's touch is very soft and Murdyk is dragging his feet and already going down before contact. And he is not even trying to achieve anything positive from the situation, his only goal was to dive.

Edit: I'm not saying that this couldn't be a penalty in modern times where the rule doesn't make much sense anyway. Many referees would've pointed to the spot. But I'm happy it wasn't, not for Italy but generally for football. Not every contact should be a penalty.

These tournaments are such a crapshoot though. So few games, and highly dependent on who's in form, injured, luck of the draw.

You never know who might got far.
