Cambiassio reveals coaching plans
Football Italia

Inter legend Esteban Cambiasso has revealed he wants to go into coaching following his recent retirement from playing.

The 37-year-old opted to end his playing career in early September after his most recent club, Greek champions Olympiacos, did not renew his contract.

And speaking to Il Nuovo Calcio, the ex-Argentina midfielder said he views his transition from player to Coach as ‘natural.’

“I have always thought with the brain of a Coach, even when I was playing,” Cambiasso began.

“And now I think that the passage to the dugout is a natural thing for me.

“When I was young in Argentina, 20 years old, I tried to coach a five-a-side team along with a friend.”

The former Real Madrid and Leicester City man then discussed Inter’s historic 2009-10 Treble-winning season under Jose Mourinho.

“We were a good group of players who had already been on a journey together.

“Then, we added new players who arrived. They were elements of great quality.

“And there was the right mentality. Every player, in his own way, had a winning mentality.

“It was born out of a spirit of sacrifice and determination. We did well to put it all together.”

I think He'll become good coach like simeone. I want to see as many as possible our former players become good coach.
Hope our management give him role as coach assistant or Young squad trainer.

There's no reason why he can't be as good as Zidane as a coach, albeit he's had it sorta easy with superstars in his squad.

But Zidane could make it work with those superstars because, among other reasons, he was Zidane. No other ex-player turned manager could have done that except for him, no matter how good they may turn out to be as managers at the beginning of their careers.

Pep Guardiola did it.

Managing superstars also needs talent. What Zidane has done is amazing and something no other coach did in last 25 years. Experienced managers like Jose, Rafa fell out with star players but Zidane has the respect for everyone.

Forget stars, they rotated whole 11 and he still won matches with second 11.

Pep Guardiola did it.

Not really, I'm talking specifically about managing superstars. Barca had a few of them when Pep first managed the club but them and others were from the academy of the club which helped him in implementing his ideas, He is a Barca man through and through after all. Zidane had more egos to deal with and didn't have the background to slide in and make an impact immediately. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying one had more experience then the other I'm saying that Pep had always been a part of Barcelona's philosophy (Joined La Masia at 13) which is one of the bigger reasons his style was an instant success.

Zidane being the player he was is most likely why all of the Madrid players, including Ronaldo, listened to him and followed his instructions.

I don't want to see Inter ruin Cambiasso's coaching career, I think he should build up experience.

I would prefer he takes on a small team as head coach. He needs experience of managing on his own, building something exciting. He already has a lot of experience working with top coaches.

If he is successful, and he does look like someone who will, then he can come over and coach us.

Yeah it's just as first stepping stone before some lower/ mid table Serie A club. Maybe he could help our push for CL.

Yeah, the Inter hot seat needs a manager who is self-assured, a great communicator and have the skin of a rhino.
