I don't get it! Real's transfer consultant said that Samuel will join us last week, and now their vice president says he surely won't.

It was too good to be true to start with! I don't know what to do now really, whom do we have to choose from.

I hope this is just talk, I really might collapse if Samuel doesn't join us, I had my hope so up to see Cordoba -- Samuel next year.

If not Samuel, then may be we will get Chivu. For me Chivu wud do as well. Well, that's what I think. :star:

Frankly Samuel is easy deal. even real accept loan deal. but Moratti again do it. so Chivu? no way loan deal. Roma only want 15m euro for Chivu. Moratti can't do it.

I am sure there were negotiations between the clubs and it failed somewhere. JZ came out and said he will try and persuade Samuel to join us.

This means probably he was told by our club to do so. I think the deal was agreed but we didn't agree terms with Samuel back then.

And now something failed, and Real will try and distant themselves from offering Samuel.

I want to know what happened? Did we fail to agree terms with Samuel or what? Because I am sure Real were conidering our offer.

Nah, i dont know. Maybe he will join us, but i never really believed in those rumors. Maybe, maybe not. It´s not the end of the world if neither Samuel nor Chivu joins us.

But, Samuel has D-Line Control Ability better than Alex.

Zzang, you've got to look on the bright side of things for a change. Just because someone isn't the megastar that you desire doesn't mean he cannot contribute to the team. I don't believe that Wome will be a starter for the season but that doesn't stop me from thinking that he has something to offer us.

I'm getting a little tired of the useless banter you promote on these respectable forums. I know a good forum that would fit your personality type well.

But on topic you are so wrong its not even funny. Maybe he is a great defender. But the second half of the year, go and watch what I watched in Liga. I watched the Direct TV Gol TV highlights each week, which show only the goals. I watched Samuel get burned, be out of position, not catch up, countless times!!!! (and I even went back to watch it on My Demand now that i have digital cable) ....even the last game of the season man, he was so out of positionan dleft a guy open!!!!!!!!!

Real Madrid have looked to end the speculation linking Walter Samuel with a move to Internazionale.

The Argentine stopper is a summer target for the Nerazzurri but reports of a ‘done deal’ have been rubbished by the Spaniards.

"I have spoken to both Walter and his agent because there has been a lot of rubbish written recently," stated Vice-president Emilio Butragueno.

"He is currently on holiday and he’s not too happy about the situation but I have calmed him down.

"I have told him and his representative that he will be a part of the squad when we meet up again on July 8."

That news will be a massive blow for Inter fans who were hoping the central defender would arrive.

Well I should have seen this coming. All the talk of Samuel joining us was bullsh!t. It was never gonna happen.

BTW I'm surprised that some of you actually believe Chivu will join us. :dielaugh: Seriously guys, remember that 99% chance of us signing him last year and how it turned out to be BS? Why oh why would would he sign with us now? He's said he wants to stay at Roma and I also think he's said he doesn't want to come to this club. Chivu isn't joining us. Heck, if he does then I'll replace my sig message with "I Love Juve and Milan to the Death," and thats a promise. That's how much I KNOW that he won't join us.

Luizao has also signed a new contract with Benfica and he supposedly has his heart set on staying there another season. So he's out as well. Personally I see no hope in us getting a top class defender to partner Cordoba. Matrix will probably stay and our defense will pretty much stay the same with the exception of Gamarra leaving.

I'm feeling totally disgusted. :yuck:

Well, if there's no Samuel, I'm not panicing. We have to first of all evaluate the Burdisso situation. If he comes back in September, we might do without a world-class defender. I have a hunch that Burdisso can make it big time.

There's still at least two great defenders who can be avaliable. They are William Gallas and Jorge Andrade. Chelsea have bought Del Horno which means Gallas is redundant, while Andrade put himself on the market some time ago.

Samuel ,just like Crappavaro only starred under Capello ,he'd never be good with Mancini ,if Chivu doesn't get injured as much as he did last season(He hardly got injured for Ajax or in his first season for Roma though) he'll be great ,Alex would be very good too.

Glad I'm not the only one. I remember Interisti calling Burdisso the "next Wall" when he played in those pre-season games last summer.

If the Samuel deal doesn't go through, no need to freak out. There's lots of good CD defenders out there. I just don't want to deal with another season of Cordoba-Miha, or Cordoba-Matrix.
