Not from me. If you look up my comments even 12 months before Barella joined Inter, I was saying that we need to do whatever it takes to get Barella. His talent & quality was that obvious.

Not from anyone. Go check Barella's thread. There's like 1 pessimistic comment in the first 4 pages.

Because Barella`s thread was made after we signed him. Look at the first post.
Before we signed him, the discussion was similar to Frattesi!s. A lot of comments complained about those 50m Cagliari asked for Barella.
If I remember correctly those days we had different threads. Rumour thread for players who we wanted to sign and then the official thread. In the rumour thread were those complains about the price.

Frattesi has all the traits Barella had those days. One of the promising players in Serie A, 2 years experience as a bona fide starter (Barella had 3 though), regular NT, but untested at a team who fight for scudetto (the classical fucking "Inter pressure").

6 pages in and most people liked him before we even signed him.

I don't know what's so hard to understand? I don't think people are hating on Frattesi, but if we have to sell Bro AND add 15m then it's a hard no to me. The situation isn't cinparable to Barella, we weren't broke like we ate now.

Do you read what I wrote?
I don`t deny that people are appreciating Frattesi. The vast majority here consider him a good midfielder, who could improve further and have the same trajectory as Barella.
What the people here are complaining is the asking price! Sassuolo ask for 40m. Yes, there is a lot of money for a player unproven at a big team considering our resources. If he succeed here, nobody will care about those 40m. But if he fails, we have a hot potato in our hand. But this is a risk we need to take. We can rely only on old farts.

By the way, look at the thread you linked. I looked only a few pages and one of the rumours was Radu + 35m for Barella. @wera and @Crzcolombian were already disgusted. At the end we paid more for him, but today nobody contest it was well spent money.

You said alot, 2 isn't alot. Majority of them actually wanted him here even at that cost. Also, you are forgetting that back then we weren't as broke as right now, we didn't have to sacrifice our top midfielder AND putting in extra money.

The hype in Barella and Frattesi are not the same. Barella was sought after many clubs including Chelsea and Liverpool. The rumour linking Frattesi is only from Juve, Milan and us.

Also why do we need to risk that? Brozovic still has a few good years in him, dude doesn't get tired. We are basically paying more while downgrading the quality of our midfield PRAYING that frattesi will turn gold. No, thanks.

What people don't understand is brozo will be sacrificed with or without frattesi. His contract is an issue. We need to downsize our wages.

As for frattesi he has a lot of potential, people saying that they don't see anything in him but wanting to keep our youngsters who can't break into most teams let alone inter is laughable. 35 was on the mark for a player of his talent in this market. I think he could have a break out year with us.

His off the ball movement is great

I still think Barella is overrated and that he'll never be really world class (not going to be Modrić), but I can't deny that getting him was the right move, seeing what other options are out there and how quickly a bad move can happen.

At least his dynamism and mentality make him soar through the pitch, we haven't had a functional midfield like this in some time. I expected a 6/10 player, we got a 8/10 player, I'll take it.

With Frattesi I expect another 6/10 player, a good player but lacking in some areas. At least he is another runner, god knows we need those

Barella had been showing his huge potential way before joining Inter. At the age of 22, while still at Cagliari he was named as the best midfielder and was included in the Serie A team of the season. What he does now as Inter player, he had been doing as Cagliari player too. Though he used to deliver long diagonal passes at Cagliari very often which he rarely does at Inter. But now he scores from longer distances fairly often. Many of us were just dreaming about him and counting days to see him wear our jersey. With Frattesi, my anticipations are nowhere near.

Barella doesn't score from longer distances, it's a rare occurrence as far I am concerned. He isn't Stanković, he is too big of a hothead

He has a good shot technique when he has time and get ready to shot, but he also had many bad first time shots

Don't have one.

Less technical than barella, but imo better in front of goal. I really wanted sms to replace brozo, but I don't mind fratessi at all, think he would fit into our system like a glove.

I agree with you.
The only one who have the attributes to develop in one of the best in the world in his position, a truly world class, is Bastoni.

The problem is what we want and what our financial possibilities allowed us to do? Forget the present situation with Zhang and the whole shit. If we get an acceptable owner who is willing to invest, what we can expect? Forget about prices of 70-80m with 8m salary (what Tonali received). This kind of business will be reserved for the upper echelon of EPL teams plus Barca, Real, PSG, Bayern and probably that`s all. We won`t have such revenues (not a huuuge fun base, Serie A is not money making machine, Italy lags behind and so on).

I want a team who is consistently in top 4 (CL money), usually able to make the knock out phase of CL and to fight and win Serie A when the circumstances are favorable. For this kind of team you need a spine of players like Barella, Lautaro, Calha, Brozo, Bastoni. And there will be enough players with such profile and adequate price we can bring here. Then you can fill the team with mercenaries and grandpas.
Yes, Barella is not world class in the whole world of football. But for what we need and what possibilities we have, he is the ideal player. Frattesi could be the same. And 40m for such a player at 23 yo (he could be the spine of the team for 10 years) is not a prohibitive price at any means.

That's kinda my reason why I wouldn't be against selling Barella IF it was for Lukaku money. That would open us to get potential pieces like Frattesi, SMS and/or Pavard.

But knowing how Inter isn't really financially stable, only 40mil would probably be put into transfer kits.

Players like Barella and Lautaro keep surprising me, because they run so much. Which is why we might be too harsh on them when they lose concentration and look worse than they actually are. Which is maybe why getting another player like that - Frattesi - would help us lots.

Compared to some of Inter's players yes. Overall, he seems to be quite active, like Barella is currently. As for overall speed, I agree with you I don't recall from the matches I watched.
