Speaking to Rai GR Parlamento via Calciomercato.com, Carnevali first discussed the race for Frattesi’s signature.
“Inter are the club that moved first, but they are making their own evaluations. Obviously, there is no shortage of opportunities on the table.
“Personally, I have never met Milan, but if other teams arrive, we are ready to listen to them. I believe that whoever arrives first has a better chance of closing the deal.”
He confirmed the Neroverdi’s price for the 23-year-old midfielder.
“Our request remains at €40m. This does not mean that we are not interested in evaluating youngsters, in every negotiation you try to listen to everything.”
The Sassuolo CEO was asked about his friendship with his Inter counterpart Beppe Marotta.
“Friendship with Marotta counts relatively. In such important negotiations, everyone tries to get the best for their club.”
He touched on when the deal could be finalised.
“We’d like to close before going into the training camp, so within the first ten days of July.”
Finally, Carnevali spoke about what Frattesi wants.
“The player wants to go to a top club, but we demand that there are the conditions that we think are right.”
