signing nesta required something more than money..
Berlu got Lazio's prez out from bankruptcy to get nesta.

We signed Cannavaro in that summer btw, who I'm sure you know was also regarded as one of the best defenders of all time. It was definitely a knee-jerk reaction after Nesta chose Milan but I don't think we broke the bank to sign Canna. I believe it was a fair amount and it was after all, Fabio freaking Cannavaro. That Canna severely underperformed with us was nobody's but Canna's own fault.

With regards on the Nesta subject itself though, I remember that he was always our first choice, and the conspiracy theory was that Lazio, who was in dire financial state at that time, was forced to sell to Milan. Galliani was the Serie A/Lega Calcio president at that time and he threatened to relegate Lazio if they sell Nesta to us instead of them. Of course, this is just some #Illuminati shit but I don't believe for a second that we let Nesta go simply because of money, only to sign our second choice Cannavaro for similar transfer fee and wages weeks later.

Edit: Old timer VLE has a different #Illuminati theory. I don't remember which is which tbh but whatever it was, I am convinced the failure to sign Nesta was not ours, but due to external duress from Milan, be it Berlu or Galliani.

You got here before I could, Handoyo.

We signed Cannavaro in that same summer for just a bit less than what Milan paid for Nesta. So it wasn't purely about lack of money (when did that stop Moratti anyways?!). I think Inter took a wrong judgement call. At that time, Nesta was more highly rated than Cannavaro, and to this day I think he was a more complete defender (Nesta was the one with better vision & positioning, Cannavaro was the better man-marker).

That said, Cannavaro flopping so miserably at Inter could not have been anticipated. There is a lot of talk about that being planned in the final year, strings pulled by Moggi. But there is no proof of that. Those were the kind of things which made Moratti paranoid, and tap player's phones.

We should really be using this guy more than we have. He's a legend of this club after all, we should honor him a bit more. Although he is an admitted Juventus fan.

Getting both Gamarra and Cannavaro instead of Nesta was good business. Maybe Vieri didn't know that we would get Cannavaro later after he found out that Inter didn't want Nesta anymore at that time.

you cant be serious

Yes I am. Theoretically and on paper it's good business. I'm not talking about whether they failed or not later on; that's a different subject which might have happened for other reasons.

That was typical Inter move, buying 31 year old Gamarra and 29 yrs old half injured Canavaro instead of 26 years old Nesta.

Serie A legend preparing to relaunch playing career

Seven years after retiring, Christian Vieri is in contact with Jiangsu Suning and took to social media to confirm his potential comeback

At 43 years old, Christian Vieri could make a sensational return to the field after receiving contact from Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning.

The club are owned by the same company in charge of Serie A outfit Inter and have expressed their interest in recruiting the former Nerazzurri player.

While Vieri himself took to twitter on Friday to confirm the talks, many assumed the charismatic striker was joking.

“Bobo [Vieri’s nickname] is back… Going to play in China,” he tweeted.

However, on Tuesday morning, he once again informed his fans on social media that he was back in training preparing for the move to Asia and his contact with Jiangsu is very much real.

“Bobo is back,” he said in a video posted to his Twitter account. “I am training because soon I will return to playing.”

Vieri retired in 2009 after a spell at Atalanta. The legendary striker made a total of 254 Serie A appearances in his career, scoring 142 goals.

He also made a sensational return in Brazil a few years back. The club announced him and everything, but he just didn't show up, never bothered to call etc.

But I'm sure this return will be even more $en$ational.

comedy at most

Nowadays Vieri is making comedy on his Instagram, exchanging "rows" with Gianluca Vialli...
maybe he can still fool some people in China, who knows.

Here's the video Vieri posted - when he said he's back: http://www.fcinter1908.it/video/vid...-i-miei-idoli-vialli-togli-quel-pelo-che-fai/

Gianluca Vialli made a spoof on this video: http://www.fcinter1908.it/video/vid...vieri-corsa-ecco-il-trucco-dellex-calciatore/

Zidane also saluted Bobo: http://www.fcinter1908.it/video/video-la-vieri-mania-contagia-tutti-persino-zidane-ciao-bobo-qui/

Here's one of Vieri's videos for those who envy him: http://www.fcinter1908.it/video/vid...e-ho-un-messaggio-per-invidiosi-e-per-vialli/

Vialli's spoof on that: http://www.fcinter1908.it/video/vid...ri-hai-detto-qualcosa-sul-mio-pelo-le-aquile/
- calling for enjoy in the end! I guess it's enjoy`s time to post a video reply.
