Nah, he was alright. Much like Lord KuzKuz in his first game.

Even if, for some reason, he doesn't perform we can always sell him for colossal profit.

Getting that feeling he might a sanchez over the hill type of player. Been like that at spurs for a while now.

well we bought Vecino for 25 mln and Eriksen for 20 mln, so you can't expect him to do better than Vecino.
I am kidding

I was arguing over this at WhatsApp group that if Eriksen fails MASSIVELY that we would want to sell him, I doubt we would be able to sell him for colossal profit. If 10m€ salary player fails massively, who would want him?

This is purely academic and not my opinion or prediction that Eriksen would fail (normally or massively), so let's leave that out of this from the start.

But yeah, which club would buy Eriksen from us if he failed at Inter?

LOL? we re already talking about selling him you do realize that he s been with us shorter than his transfer saga lasted?

First of he was not that bad and if you watched the game you could clearly see that he still has to get used to our playing style often he played it well but then had no idea where he s colleagues where standing, also you could already tell that his passing in tight spaces is superior to anybody we have in our squad.
Give him some time to get used to his teammates and you ll see what he s capable of.
Also imho he s gonna look alot better when it s him and brozo in midfield.

Maybe because Candreva had 4 years to get decent, while Eriksen doesn't even know all of his teammates names yet?

Poor performance. No question about that. It will take time for him to adapt to his new position and role. He's not going to play AM role at Inter unless Conte changes his formation and system suddenly. It will be the wide-drifting CM for him from now on.
Yet, he played as a trequartista yesterday.

I think that had as much to do with missing Brozovic as it did incorporating Eriksen.

It doesn't help when you have a donkey like Vecino running around aimlessly up and down the pitch with no fixed position.

Brozo is integral to our success. He's the only mid we have that knows how to distribute the ball from deep effectively. As Eriksen gets used to calcio and his teammates, we'll see a much better player going forward.

The overreaction is rather from people complaining about others allegedly overreacting.

No one is here talking about selling Eriksen this summer. People are discussing what WOULD happen if he fails to perform here and how much we COULD sell him for IF he performed badly. That is a totally valid discussion even if Eriksen had scored one and assisted three yesterday.

Besides, no one is supposed to point out negatives about his game yesterday? Only nice things are allowed to be said? We all know he needs time. He has barely played 90ish minutes so far.

You always allowed to point out negatives but what was it that he was so bad in yesterday? Imho he was just not involved enough which again was a logical consequence of him just arriving.

It s not like he had tons of horrible bad passes and was just standing around.

We still played the same formation and system where the mezzalas drift to their flanks. When we have the possession in their half then they move to more central position obviously when the RCB/LCBs move forward and RWB/LWBs provide the width.
