Lets hope they have more players out injured, I'm shocked we dint test Hilario

When Cech came out I thought the game was over and we were going to steam roll them.... real pissed we didnt score any more:wallbang:

A 2-1 Victory at home to me isnt enough to put Chelsea out. If it was 2-0 then maybe...

All they have to do next game is win 1-0 and we are out...... which will be very easy for them:mad:

Man oh man. I cannot believe there are still people being pessimistic about this. Instead of worrying about the worst possible situation, why don't you just relax and enjoy this win for a bit.

It is ridiculous that you somehow give Chelsea the advantage in the next match. If our players had your mentality, they would lose every single match!

Instead of thinking, "hey, all we need is a draw and we are through!" you somehow forget this and only think negative thoughts.

This is the first time we have beaten an English team in CL in 6 1/2 years...fuckin enjoy it!!

Why people can't enjoy the victory in the match thread? This thread is for Chelsea - Inter 2nd leg match, so why people mustn't give their analysis of this match? Why everyone needs to be same like you, why everyone needs to enjoy this great, wonderful, absolutely fantastic victory so much?

Let's hope Cech and Essien aren't back by the next leg, Hilario was really hilarious yesterday, i would love to have a full match against him.

I fully believe we can score against them at stamford bridge. I think their defence is poor - they looked suspect when we put any real pressure on them. Terry was shocking for first goal - milito easily turned him....and for eto'o chance he was ball watching - i fully believe we can score over there!

LOL, Hilario is crap. He was very lucky that we didn't had any free-kick or any good shoot, because that would be nightmare for him.

About Cech and Essien, and I hope that they won't play and in second leg, that would be great for us!!

Matthäus,Messi,
Dunno anything about Cech but the way he reacted after the incident and his prompt change indicate a serious injury, seemed like he twisted his right knee.
This would be perfect for us,Chec is more then just a goalkeeper for them his positioning and quick passing of the ball to their midfield make him invaluable for Chelseas way of playing..
Again,a HEAVY match for us,we basically have to park the bus and eat dirt and make Chealseas players eat the same-and wait for deadly counters.
Like some wise guy said-the players kits should be so ragged and dirty that there is no use for the washing mashine anymore, throw them away...Thats the spirit we need and divine plan from the wizzard himself of course:D

Javier Zanetti,
Essien will be back for this tie, but we have confidence in this group of players. We played an excellent match at the San Siro, but the dangerous thing is that Chelsea can qualify if they win with only a single goal to nil. We should score at Stamford Bridge to make life harder for them. We should be really careful going into that match.

COME ON INTER.............LIKE WHAT THE BANNER READS ----- "YES WE CAN"

The Czech Republic international underwent further scans on the injury on Thursday and the club have now confirmed that Cech will be out for up to a month.

It means he will miss Saturday's clash with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge and the return leg against Inter Milan on 16th March.

A spokesman for Chelsea said: "Today's scans confirm that Petr Cech suffered a tear in a calf muscle in the Inter game. He is expected to be out for three to four weeks."

It is a bitter blow for Chelsea as they continue to battle for glory in the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup.

I think the next serie a matches between this leg are critical for us. For instance stankovic and motta need more match fitness. Stan was really weak on the ball but did his dirty work in midfield. I know motta was sluggish out there at times but with the ball on his feet he is a great asset as he can pass well and link our attack. I thought he was alot better than ppl hating on him.

I'd really like to incorporate mariga into the first team because we were lacking a bit of physicality and we desperately needed a ball winner in yesterdays match. (muntari is not an option for me)
Also hopefully santon is match fit and ready to go. Zanetti couldn't seem to handle the speed and strength of chelsea yesterday and had some uncharacteristic mistakes from LB. We saw last year davide was great against CR9 and handled the pressure of playing united so i have 100 percent confidence in him.

Then of course our attack, eto'o needs to start scoring or he should be benched no question. Milito worked very hard but we gave him few oppurtunities and at the end we asked too much of him as he was tired.

I would really love to see balotelli get a chance in his natural cf position to do damage against chelsea. You can tell his pace and creativity were really getting to them. I'm not sure what was up with pandev maybe just needed time to get into the match or maybe he's tired? I was really disappointed when he wasted that nice ball from balo. I'm sure he'll sort himself out.

I think we showed yesterday that we have sharpness in attack and we can create great chances off few oppurtunities. Something that was lacking in our previous cl campaigns. We can exploit chelsea's defense and I strongly believe we can get away goals.

I don't care if we're playing at stamford bridge we showed yesterday that we can stop chelsea's attack as they had no clear cut chances. Lucio was unreal and samuel's marking was great. I'm just curious what mou's approach will be. Will we go for the away goal or will we play for 0-0 and hope we counter.

I'm proud of our team and optimistic not only about the next leg but our chances in this tournament as a whole. Yesterdays win IS an advantage despite chelsea's away goal. Not to mention our players probably feel as if a great weight has been lifted off their shoulders and they will be confident of progression.

Javier Zanetti,
Hey guys, don't get over-excited about Petr Cech's injury situation. What if Hilario performs better than him and we struggle to score? Nobody knows what will happen. Hilario might have a good day against us at Stamford Bridge.

Sorry but have you ever seen Hilario in action, who'd you rather have in goals? Cech or him?????

Jeez, did you see him attempting THREE goal kicks? they hardly left the ground. Trust me if you keep testing him hes gonna fuck up :boogy:

Like Lampard said, he never disappointed them when he's called in action. Maybe he's right or maybe he's wrong. We just have to wait and see. Let's just hope that Chelsea are having a bad day when we face them in the second leg.

Obviously he will say that, hes not going to say "Hilario is a rubbish keeper" Put it this way, when we thought Toldo was going to be in goals instead of Cesar what was your reaction? "YEEEY" ?? no... so it will be t he same with them. Cech out is a HUGE favor in our advantage :boogy:

True, not long ago Barca were missing their main stars and still gave us a schooling. Some people have short-term memory...

Essien is really key for them, but it depends when he is coming back, it may take him a while to re-integrate. If he plays, someone physical must play, Stan and Motta allow others to boss them around.
