The CL winner will never be the best team in Europe. You have to face all the teams in the competition to prove that you're best.

Winning 4-5 games out of 61-62 games proves nothing. And only 3-4 good teams out of those 4-5 games.

With Milan they were only 2 good teams. 2 good team and they won, that proves nothing but luck and concentration.

Obviously we disagree on what does 'champions of Europe' actually mean..Milan was the best amongst the best in Europe and that's enough for me..Would've been perfect if we won the Scudetto too, but who cares now..

Is Roma the best team in Italy? No. Is the winner of the Coppa Italia the best team in Italy? No.
Is Getafe/Sevilla the best team in Spain? No. Is the winner of the Copa del Rey the best team in Spain? No.
Is Chelsea the best team in England? Maybe, not neccesarily. Is the winner of the FA Cup the best team in England? Maybe, not neccesarily.

By this analogy, the winner of the Champions' League is also not necessarily the best team in Europe.

What I'm trying to say is, the team who wins a trophy competition is not necessarily the best team in the competition. But 9 times out of 10, the team who wins a league championship is the best team in the league.

Then i've got to say that even a championcher of a league isn't sometimes the best team (see juve the past 2 years, they was cheating us).Also the luck is very important to a team for the succes

Well Juve is an exception. Although, let's be honest, despite the referee's help, Juve is one heck of a team.

But look at the other leagues. Barcelona in 2004 - 2006. Chelsea in 2004 - 2006. Arsenal in 2003 - 2004. Valencia in 2003 - 2004. All these teams were the best and deserved to win their league.

On the other hand, look at the Champions League. Porto in 2004. Liverpool in 2005. Milan in 2007. If you put these teams in a league between the same competitors of the CL in those years, I bet my life that they won't come out on top.

All the best teams are consistent, and you can't show that in a trophy competition. And to me, winning the CL is 50% quality, 50% luck.

I always look forward to the CL and our chances, yet our beloved team always manages to disappoint when the going gets tough. It's become quite commonplace and depressing to be honest. But on the plus side, at least we don't have to go through the qualifiers this year

teams dont come out tentative that they might make a mistake

we dont have that psychological advantage that can only be gained through continued success

I agree with the celtic thing, I am also not an SPL follower butlots of peaple in my class are celtic fans and I chack their scores now and then to see how they are doing.
But then you've got to see, who could you take away from the Group stages to put a Scottish team in there. (I'd take away Roma(3rd place Italian league)

many irish folks are celtic supporters anyways !! but the spl still deserves one spot an one spot only in cl ...
