Heitinga is indeed a very nice player but I believe he is cup-tied as he already appeared for Ajax in the CL qualifiers and I doubt HSV would buy a 10-mil or so defender for Bundesliga games only.
They obviously need a good defender and these don't come cheap, so whoever they get, he'd better be able to play for them in both competitions.

Thanks for the congrats..It was easier than I thought..Red Star just isn't in the same league with Milan, like the rest of the clubs from ex-Yugoslavia..

@Zlatanov, you are a member of MilanMania forum, aren't you? I posted there few years ago and I think I remember you from there..
Anyway, Forza Milan, CL here we are..:D

You can have Chelsea this year. ;) Do you know when the group draw is going to be?

Edit: Nevermind, that's what the "On Thursday" meant. I'm not a very quick thinker when it's late.

Boring games?? I don't think so..There won't be easy games, that's for sure..You might get some clubs with lower reputation, but still arrogancy could prove deleteriously..Milan, on the other hand, will surely get thougher opponents and it'll be a pleasure watching them all the way to the Finals..;)

Today, my hometown club Dinamo Zagreb plays vs Arsenal in the new Emirates stadium and we expect not to embarass ourselves again..It would be joy to score in that match..

O man, that will be beutifull game to watch.
Dinamo will score but I am afrraid they will concede too much, Nowotny is injured and Cvitanovic,Cale and especially GK Turina are big wholes.
Modric and da Silva are cllass players.

Some interesting figures regarding how much the C.L winning team would earn! Pretty impressive numbers when you think about it!

Champs League winners to net extra 100 mln euros-study

LONDON, Aug 23 (Reuters) - The winner of this season's Champions League could earn up to 100 million euros ($130 million) on top of UEFA prize money and tournament gate receipts, a study said on Wednesday.
Increased sponsorship, extra television revenue, higher attendances and inflated player values look set to swell the victorious club's coffers long after they lift the trophy in Athens on May 23.

Ahead of the group stage draw in Monaco on Thursday, KRC Research and Champions League sponsor MasterCard assembled 12 leading football and business experts to estimate the extended windfall for the winning team.
The 100 million euro figure does not include cash awarded to the winners by UEFA. The European governing body says the successful club could receive as much as 40 million euros in prize money, including television revenue but not gate receipts.
It is not just the clubs that benefit from Champions League glory. The study found that the winning team's home city also receives a large cash injection.

The city of Liverpool received an estimated 70 million euro boost last year through increased consumer spending, tourism, sponsorship and commerce after Rafael Benitez's side won the trophy in 2005.
The effect on Barcelona from their 2006 victory has yet to be calculated but the study found that FC Porto's Champions League victory in 2004 brought up to 12 million euros into their city.
Despite the low figure in Porto's case, the research reckoned smaller cities are likely to profit more from having winning clubs than larger places such as London or Milan.

Hasan, it's like you're reading my mind..Exactly my point..Cvitanović and Ćale are both average players, I couldn't believe when Bilić called Ćale to play for our NT..
Turina, well he isn't that bad, just his recent performances are not on high level..His mistakes cost Dinamo too much lately and Mamić(president of Dinamo..) opted for Pletikosa, but failed..

Modrić and da Silva are way over Croatian league, but in European terms they are only 'good' players at the moment..No hurry, they're still only 20 years old talented players with bright future..

Anyway, my prediction for tonight: Arsenal - Dinamo 1-1..

The whole team had a trouble staying onside that game. Gilardino seemed to be the #1 culprit, but there were at least a half dozen offside calls. The goal was on a pretty clear one too. I'll take it though :p

You bet for this game? You are Paki and you know that betting is haram

Ajax Amsterdam 0 - 1 FC Copenhagen

Forza Copenhagen. I want to see one Scandinavian team in Champions League this season. But not only Scandinavian, but also to see some teams from countries other than we saw in last seasons.

Steaua Bucuresti is already there Levski Sofia almost done their job :yeay:

Unfortunately there will be no Czech teams in the competition.

OFFTOPIC: Hsv has finally signed Joris Mathijssen from AZ instead of Heitinga.

Firstly screw you Mustafa. Secondly poor stuff by Chievo. god knows how the hell had they managed to get 7th spot last season. And even more dissapointing for
Ajax. They ARE OUT. Even though they had won away from home 2-1. they lost at home to Copenhagen 2-0.

Close man, 2:1 for Arsenal in nice game, great start by Dinamo but they could't continue with that pressing(they aren't in perfect phisicall condition).
Good luck in UEFA cup, if you get hot opponent maybe I come watch that live.

Fantastic evening. FC København is going to CL. I am so happy. If it hadn't been for an exam on friday I would have been in Amsterdam. This is amazing...
