ask for him back as part of the Onana deal. No way he getting a shot at Chelsea + they need to drop 30 players.

he has been dominating at the U20 WC.

Most of Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and South American teams in General are all pro players they are starters or at least get alot of minutes at their clubs domestically in the 1st division or 2nd division. I wouldn't brush off his performances because he doing it vs 20 year olds or younger. That is why South America usually wins or gets very far in these vs the Euro teams who are basically youth team or B league players.

he def won't start here but rather have him back than paying 30 million for a Sassulo player who might be shit. Give him Gags minutes and hope by the end of the season he can take a starting spot on the team or a great rotation player.

Plus he played on efl championship team and didn't set the league on fire. We got like 15-20m for him, I'd say we move on

I’m always for using our promising acadamy talents. But given our financial state there was no way we could refuse a 15 million offer for a 19 year old youth player with no senior caps.

Yes he’s still looking very promising at youth level, but that’s no guarantee he will develop further at senior level.

No. We sold him because we are up to our eyeballs in debt and he had a suitor willing to pay an 8-figure sum for him.
Given the extent of Inter's debt, how does 15 million make a difference?

We don't care about Casadei who was a proven talent but we're all jerking about for freaking Asllani when he's had less Serie A exposure than Gagliardini when we signed him.

Another example of our young player policy. But it's nothing new. It's logic that we're the team with the oldest players on average in the league and one of the absolute oldest in Europe.

Proven talent? Zero caps in senior level at the time he was sold. Asllani was much more proven.

I said proven talent, not proven first tier player.

He was our best Primavera player, one of the best of his age in Italy if not the best, played for all levels of the youth Italian NTs. It makes sense that he'd be the primary player to promote to the first team and make him a rotation player.

Asllani did jack shit other than be a decent rotation player at Empoli and featured in a couple of friendlies for Albania.
He was eligible for Italy and I don't remember Italy ever bothering with him, whereas they have no problem in integrating non-Italians in the NT, even from a young age.

You can argue that getting competitive time at professional level is more important, but players always have to start from somewhere and most of the great players start from a very young age nowadays. And Casadei's path was written, Asllani had to work hard to get minutes and still does. So he's closer to the Gagliardini type than the Casadei/Zaniolo type.

Path was written where?

We have still absolutely no proof he would have made it to the Inter first team.

You are just trying to argue something to make yet another dig at Marotta for monetizing Casadei. Too transparent.

At Marotta? Lol, he wasn't even on my mind.

We have a knack for selling our best prospects, that's before Marotta. And during of course.

All I'm saying is that people jerk off for freaking Asllani who hasn't been any good really when he played apart from having a better touch than Gagliardini, yet they want more of that, it costs 12m and we sold Casadei for a similar amount just to cover for Lukaku's loan deal. Don't tell me we couldn't have used Casadei as a 6th player in the midfield rotation instead of Asllani, please, just because you haven't seen him against Spezia, Perugia, Reggina and Lecce...

I'm saying we can't say how he could fare against men, specially not last summer. Asllani showed in 6 months at Empoli he can do it. And showed this season he can do it. Asllani is not a world beater by any means, I'm not saying that. But he can play.

Casadei was sold to generate plusvalenza.

edit. Buying and selling aren't net neutral in balance sheet perspective. Casadei was full 15m profit for this fiscal year while Asllani is just a fraction of his transfer fee for this fiscal year.
