I agree with almost everything, but we can sell not only Lautaro or Bastoni. Dimarco, Thuram, Hakan, Barella could bring good money as well. Our problem is that we continue to bringing old players, which doesn't look positive for our future.
Inzaghi also has his fault, relying mostly of experience but some steps shall be taken in that direction. The first one is smooth transition of Mkhitaryan and do not offering him a new deal.
He just signed a 2 year deal. Wake up!

Atleast now some people will stop with rubbish claim that we are top 3 in Europe. I told you, one thing is a domination in Seria A, and that definitely doesnt prove that we are among best in Europe. I knew it that fucking Atletico will harm us, but I was laughed and poked for that. Football is not a fucking Playstation game, it doesnt work like that. Dont expect us to beat best in Europe like Real, City or even Bayern with Mhiki, Darmian, DeVrij, players that are in latter stage of their career..Plus our best players mostly dissapear in crucial big matches like this. Stop overrating our squad, for a start. Dissapointed but not so much cause I knew that this is gonna be really hard. It is what it is.
Now lets focus on scudetto and try not to fuck up that, cause that was our main goal. Some people here lived in illusion.
The people who thought we are top 3 in Europe were delusional. We got some of the easiest draws in group stage and round of 16 and still couldn't progress to the quarterfinal.

I let the emotions from last night settle for a bit. The result may have been unnecessary, but it's not surprising. Besides, yesterday's match isn't the main reason we're not advancing. We left it at home by failing to convert too many chances. Yesterday was a complete off day, partly due to ourselves but also due to Atletico. We knew beforehand that Atletico would have to score. Defensively, we didn't give away much apart from Griezmann's goal (Pavard's mistake). If we had reached halftime with that 0-1 lead, we would have made it to the next round, I'm convinced of that. But in possession, we were really poor. Almost the entire team, throughout the match.

Do we belong to the top in Europe? Definitely top 10 in my opinion. But that's mainly because of our recognizable and clear way of playing. Everyone knows exactly what they need to do. Additionally, we have players like Lautaro, Barella, Bastoni, Hakan, Pavard, and Dimarco who belong among the best in the world at their positions. Sommer, Acerbi, Darmian, De Vrij, and Mhiki are players who can still perform at a high level, and Dumfries and Thuram fit very well into our system.

However, we don't have a player like Griezmann who can decide a match out of nowhere with a brilliant move. Someone who leads you through matches like these. A foundation of confidence for the whole team. We also don't have guys like Depay or Correa who we can bring in. Our attacking options from the bench are Alexis and Klaassen. And those are exactly the two points why we're not advancing and why we don't belong to the absolute top. We simply lack a superstar and bench players who can make the difference.

No we were not better. In one game better team can lost, but in two.. Overall you cant say we didnt deserve to lose. We did. After 2 0 on agregate we shat our pants. Whole team sucked. To claim we are top 3 in Europe was wrong.
I still think we the better team, but as you said, these clowns totally shat their pants with this losers attitude and gave them the win...

Lol. I missed that. Not very good decision.
He was part of starting lineup for the entire season. Give him some respect. He is part of the success in Seri A that we have today, And that is the reason he signed a new contract for 2 years.
Even today tired Mkhitaryan put a 110 minutes shift with 89 percent passing and being part of the first goal. But whom am I explaining this?

Why the hell two statistically proven worst penalty takers took that penalties? Why? Before us Sanchez has anti record 6 missed penalties out of 7 or something.

And it is NOT FUCKING ALLOWED to waste these moments.

I swear Inzaghi looks like me playing Football Manager in lazy mode, dont even bother looking at the PK taking stats

Simply press "filter" -> "age" and filter striker and attacking midfielder options.

Sanchez Lautaro and ... Klaassen wtf.

Probably the players decided themselves.
Acerbi reminds me of Materazzi, so cool in front of the penalty spot.

The biggest problem was that we played our worst game against an Atletico who played their best game this season according to the media. And we still made it to penalties and missed the best chances of the match. Every team sometimes plays one or more worse games in a season, unfortunately we had this yesterday. I don't think any club wanted to draw against us and you see the appreciation of foreign media increasing every week. I think we have really taken a certain path and we must continue to follow it. Yesterday it became painfully clear that the majority of the substitutions add nothing and only make us weaker. Imagine if we could bring some of the players Atletico could bring on.

Unfortunately, this team has financial limits, but the way of playing football and the team atmosphere is worth a lot to me. Hopefully we won't have to sell anyone and our financial situation will improve season by season so that we also have a strong bench for these types of matches at the highest level.

Now full focus on the Scudetto so that we can become champions in the match against Milan, that would give the season so much shine that I will almost forget yesterday.

Yesterday or two days ago @.h. said the same thing many of you say after we fucked up. We didn`t take a big scalp (very nice said) since 2011 (Bayern to be more precise). Even last year, we march to the final without knocking out any big team - Milan is a big name, not a big team anymore. Porto and Benfica the same.
And @.h. was eaten alive - @Brehme beeing the most vocal.

Yes, CL is not for beggars. We have a squad made from a few good players we developed (Lataro, Barella, Bastoni) plus a combos of free agents and old farts. Pavard is the exception from what should be an important contingent in a team who want to fight in the upper echelon of CL. And it was him with a monumental brainfart.
As I remember your pal h was claiming that this Inter is even better than treble winning team(best Inter he has ever seen) and that there will be no excuses if we lose to Atletico. Just for claim like that he deserved to be roasted.

this team'sl eague performances are objectively a LOT better than the treble winning Inter. The team is a good team, our players played like dog shit last night.

I was really pleased when 2009-2010 Inter got past Chelsea, shocked when we beat Barca 3-1, and thought we did an amazing job controlling the final to beat Bayern 2-0. If we'd lost to Chelsea I'd have been a little disappointed, but we'd have shrugged and accepted it, after losing to Liverpool and Man Utd at the similar stages in the precious couple of seasons.

I'm fucking disappointed we lost to Atletico. And I think so is everyone here. We all know we should have gone through there, but for dogshit appearances from our individuals and our chronic inability to score in Europe.

Do you ever just shut the fuck up, like seriously? You're probably the most toxic person on this place.

Did anyone realize why Buchanan was on the line? And why Inzaghi replaced Bastoni? And why did absolutely dead Mkhitaryan play for so long?

I think Bastoni simply is not able to play 90+ minutes at such high speed. Inzaghi always replaces him around 70th or 80th minute in these big matches.

Before Buchanan, Sanchez was on the line to come but then Atletico scored and Inzaghi cancelled the sub. Simone did not know what to do apparently.

Anyway, this team could dominate Serie A but for CL, a couple of big transfers are necessary. Marotta and Ausilio are doing wonders without money but it's clearly not enough to beat top European teams.

I dont really disagree, but (serious question rather than rhetorical) do Atletico really count as a big european team atm?
They went out bottom of their CL group last year, they're 14 points off the pace of La Liga which is pretty comparable to where Juve/Milan are in relation to us...

Like, 4th place in La Liga beat the clear dominant club in Serie A. Isn't this just outright a tragedy?

So based on our performances in the league you claimed that this is a best Inter you ever seen?? Really?! Cmon, just say that Inzaghi sucks and that we lost cause of him. Its easier to defend and less embarrassing.

Our second flaw is our LCM position. Eriksen, Vidal, and now Mkhitaryan. Why aren’t we getting another Barella or Hakan, someone young who can fill that role and make it his own for years?
I agree with you on all points, but not on this one. We don't have the money. Mkhitaryan has been better than expected and I'm sure Barella will be LCM when Mhki isn't a starter anymore.

The problem is that I don't think Frattesi or Zielinski are starter material for CL competition .... and we don't have money to really get those players, but we also NEED CL SUCCESS to make the team better. It's a fucking mystery how we are going to do that.

Well after yesterday it really feels as if the season is over. If we don't do the choke of the century we will win the Scudetto and besides that there is nothing. No Coppa, no CL. Lautaro should never shoot a penalty again and we shouldn't be deluded by a couple of good games to extend Alexis' contract.

Yesterday it was obvious that our subs upfront and for the midfield aren't good enough. Alexis played bad and where the hell came that Klaassen guy from? At least Davy's penalty was decently shot and it was a great save by Oblak, but why the fuck did he shoot anyway?

Next season I really hope that we can get a new RWB, Dumfries just isn't good enough and we should take any money we can get from his sale. TJ doesn't seem like a real starting option and Darmian - as reliable as he is - is getting too old to rely on.

We are playing such a great season, dominated Atletico in the first match and now it feels "empty". Such a shame that we lost, after the first leg we really deserved to get to the next round.

People thinking that we could win CL with this team are Hillarious. Our best players are Hakan and Lautaro, players that usually choke in big games. Cmon wtf
