Did anyone watch/read offside? Probably the most realistic sports manga out there. Sadly I can't find them online....

Ofc, this and Samurai Champloo are basically amongst best gateway animes out there. It's kinda what you think anime is mixed with a lot of western type of dialogue and setting.

I've been watching Bakuman, a story about two aspiring mangakas. It's pretty well done, except the main love plot is a bit convoluted. If anybody wants to know how Mangas are done, this is for you.

Try Kakushigoto. It's genius with lots of language puns and it's about a Mangaka.

Recently I've read Haikyuu and thankfully it finished during my life time, great manga and one of the best sports wise. I also read Blame of the Immortal because of the anime that aired a few months back. When I started watching I wasn't that into it and the pacing was weird (later I found out that the anime adaptation coverd 200+ chapters in 24 episodes!) but I think around EP 15 I thought the original work could be decent and read the manga from the start, great decision it was becasue I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's a highly acclaimed manga anyway, lots of violence and gore fyi.

Gore in a manga about volleyball?

Oh, right. Nevermind, I didn't read the previous post carefully.

Though I have to say, now I find the idea of a gorey spokon quite intriguing.

The good thing about older manga/anime is that you can binge watch/read them and not wait every week for a new episode/chapter.

Though there are long running series which have literally have been around for decades, like One Piece (which isn't even the series on the longest run) since '97.

The problem is for most anime's we have to wait years sometimes for them to release another season, if they even decide to renew them. Blood Lad was one of them, which was such a good anime but they didn't even bother to do a second season and they ended it right as it was about to get real interesting.

I've pretty much finished all the anime's I was watching and am waiting for the next season, but I know some will probably take over a year. Then they only release like 12 episodes or some shit and you gotta wait again for the remaining episodes next year.

Just finished Bungou Stray Dogs which is amazing, but I might now just watch an anime I know is complete and finished so I don't have to wait for the episodes.

I know this is more of a manga thread but I just discovered I can buy full runs of comics on eBay for super cheap. I bought $200 but got 5 full series and like 350 issues haha. I just had a huge box come to my house and my wife was like wtf is that. It’s like I’m a dork sue me.

Now that I know that man I feel bad for comic book stores they are fking dead

I bought the new 52 Batman complete series 0-52, + 10 other comics) = 100 with shipping
Batman Rebirth 1-25 (3rd series) $30 , 26-50 $30
X-men Vs Avengers 0-12 and All new X-men 1-41 for $40. Shipped!!!

Then 2 of the other people selling just gave me a ton of free stuff as well as they wanted to get rid of it. Now I have no place to put this stuff. Will probably read it and then donate most to a library.

I know it’s worthless paper because how many get printed but god damn that’s a lot of material. The cover price alone is like 1,000.

I went down this evil rabbit hole when my nephew and niece asked me to take them to the comic store. I gave my wife the 1st appearance of Spider Gwen when we started dating. To get her into it. She did not tho I did just get it rated and it’s a 9.4 copy so worth a lot now.

Is there anyone with anime suggestions? I just finished Champloooo

Especially if you know any good anime that maybe hasn't become as popular as other. The reason I ask this is because its a higher chance that I would not have seen it. I stay away from comedy and drama anime.

Berserk, 1997 version. (or you could watch the movie trilogy, but I'd rather you watch the anime).

Berserk is quite popular though 

Psycho Pass is worth if you missed it. (although the second season is not so good)

Darker than black (same applies for the second season)

Actually it seems that Psycho Pass has third season. I've missed it. Have to see it.

i'm a fan of Golgo 13, an anime about an exceptionally skilled hit man. no comedy, no drama, just a man who happens to make a living killing people.

I'm not much of an anime guy. About a year ago I decided to give it a shot and started to watch Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. I thought the first 10-12 episodes were great but after that it turned into a complete snoozefest.
Admittedly I haven't finished it to this day, I'm still missing about 15 episodes, but nevertheless I plan on finishing it.

Bro, watch Hunter x Hunter. Amazing show. I started out with Naruto but maybe its hard making someone an anime believer with a show that dates back to 90s since I think the quality is shit.

What kinda shit do you wanna watch? Fantasy, slice of life, something short or long?

I second Varmin's suggestion of Darker Than Black, especially the first season. Steins Gate is awesome, easily one of my favorites of all time including the second season.
