Watching Hunter X Hunter at the moment. Does the Chimera Ant arc pick up eventually? 30 episodes into that arc and just bored really.

To some people Chimera Arc is the greatest arc in anime history. To me it's the most boring part of HxH. It slows down too much, but the end is pretty good.

Chimera ruined the anime for me, if the show would've ended before the Chimera arc then I would think it was a much better anime. I never seen an anime with that kind of pace but of course they had to ruin it.

I watched like 70 episodes of HxH and was bored as fuck, realized, way too late, that it's just not for me.

Shame, but I can see how it isn't for everyone (I'm not into Naruto for instance, and it's definitely not a bad anime). It's one of those rare animes where I love the characters and it has a sophisticated battle system but not really a gripping story. The Phantom Troupe, the Killua Family, Gon's father, Kurapika's backstory, the Battle arena, the worldbuilding... so many interesting things, at least for me.

It's a shame the manga is never getting another issue because the mangaka doesn't find it interesting anymore.

Right now I'm watching Tatami Galaxy and I don't know if I like it or not.

I tried watching Kaguya-sama and it just didn't work. Humor was forced, wasn't laughing as much for what's supposed to be a comedy. welp.

Pretty much a reverse Death Parade OP. Seriously sounding, yet the show is more light hearted.

I love the anime so I'm trying to not see any manga spoilers until the next season but my Instagram explore page and youtube recommendations keep trying to get me. Luckily it's slowed down and nothing has been spoiled yet but it came real close when I watched a video the other day about the paleozoic era. I feel like it's a ticking time bomb from now until next winter

Can we normalize ahegao avatars?

It's good that AoT is finished. I don't want another HxH.
Also the anime has been pretty good, gonna finish the last two episodes today. I guess we'll have to wait to end of 2022 for Part 2.

If you have Netflix and want some quality animes
- Scissor Seven (it's chinese and it's as crazy as Kill La Kill)
- Aggretsuko (comedy drama - but done right... the main character goes to karaoke to sing black metal - it's brilliant)
- Food Wars (it could be better, but it's a tournament anime and does are fun usually)
- Levius (steampunk boxing, I won't say it's perfect, but it's a nice quick watch, it almost doesn't have slow moments)
- Erased (time travelling - again, the premise is great, middle of the anime is kinda meh, but the ending is worth it)
- Carole & Tuesday (musical anime, you probably heard of it before, I love it, my gf thought it was kinda too simplistic)

Haha just noticed my wife is super into one piece. I was like why didn’t you say anything. She’s like it has 1,000 episodes she didn’t want to have to rewatch for me to catch up

Watching this one for the season. Somehow it's soothing taking in atmosphere, art, sound etc.

Also this one for a more serious mystery.

Absolutely crazy that you just said this haha. I watched it over this past weekend for the first time. Season 1 was great and the rest was OK at best, I was thankfully able to piece certain things together because I was paying attention to certain things. But yeah, the studio made a mess of the whole thing. Season 3 in particular was my least favourite. Season 4 also should've been longer.

I heard the manga is top-tier, im probably going to try to find physical copies and read them. I liked the characters, setting, and plot enough to read it now now I've watched it.

Hopefully it gets the full metal alchemist treatment down the line.

Hehe, I'm sorry but what is "full metal alchemist treatment"? This anime deserved to be atleast 10 season longer. Tokyo Ghoul felt like when I was trying to learn a whole course in one weekend because I had been to lazy to study during the semester.

The original full metal alchemist anime wasn't true to the manga, so years down the line they did a reboot called full metal alchemist: brotherhood that was accurate to the manga.

HunterxHunter had a similar case as well.

Tokyo Ghoul is still a popular series so im sure it'll happen one day.
