Tbh, I dont think we were so stupid as to make such a deal for Cannavaro that we swapped him straight for Carini. It was probably some kind of form of creative accounting again. And obviously there were other factors: if you remember there were rumors around that Moggi had asked Cannavaro to play crap on purpose to get him. Anyway, Cannavaro in my eyes one of the most overrated defenders of last decade. During that time he had about 2 good seasons at club level and one good tournament.

I think people are seriously overvaluing Rano. Just because we got robbed when we paid ~19mil for him doesn't mean that represents his actual value 2 years later. 2 years consisting of 1 good half season surrounded by a bunch of wildly inconsistent performances.
