You fail to point out that we don't have just 3 CM slots, we have 2 mezzala slots and one regista slot. Are you gonna put Barella to play regista? Last time he did that we lost to Sassuolo 2-0 at home AFAIR. Calhanoglu cannot play all minutes. None of our midfielders are registas except Calhanoglu and Asslani.

And THAT'S why Inzaghi wants to change Asllani to someone else. If this is the midfield group we gonna go in this season, Asllani will play more than last season.

If a stadium is anywhere as profitable as it sounds, I can personally find a way to finance it. They will only need to pay me some consulting fees.

We don't own a stadium at the moment either because it's not that profitable or it's not approved by the local government.
It’s the city council that’s the problem, we literally had a project in place but they obstructed that because they couldn’t accept neither loosing the money from loaning the stadium out nor the partial tear down of the old stadium to make room for the new.

And how are we supposed to get a new stadium and sponsor without a new owner? Zhang nor Oaktree is not very likely to do so, either because of being incapable to do so or unwilling to do so.

Oaktree only tool in the toolbox will be cutting cost, cutting cost in this case mean reduce the biggest expenditures that is the payroll, to do so means selling those players with highest salary.

oaktree won’t pay out our dept that should be nearing €700m. Also the whole paying out the whole depth is also at large not really a necessity action. It’s normal for companies and especially sports team to have some dept, dept in itself isn’t an issue. What needs to be done is just reduce it to a more sustainable level, so interests rates get more manageable. Paying out the whole chunk is completely unnecessary action.

There also several ways you can finanse stadium projects, for example selling the naming rights is one way to reduce the cost on your behalf.

No disagreement, my dude. I'm just saying, there's no recent precedent for a change of ownership of an Italian club already in the CL, and there's no easy revenue on the table.

In regards to the debt, it depends on the debt really. This debt does impact our FFP position, currently to the tune of about £40m/yr, but also we need to pay out the bonds redemption in a few years time, so itll be very much on people's minds to worry abut.

I really dont think it looks 'that' profitable.

It's been a while since I looked at the Juve numbers, but we werent millions of miles off from their revenue as it currently stands IIRC. Yes, we're a better supported (e.g. locally) team in terms of fans willing to go to the stadia, likely to increase our matchday revenue over them, but in terms of cost if you're looking at like 900mil to build the stadia... to generate an extra 30-50mil of ticket revenue every season, the financing costs alone fuck the maths on that. The only way it really works is if someone is willing to reach into their pocket and fund the stadia.

At 0.5% interest rates, it makes a lot of sense to pursue a stadia using debt. At 5%, it doesnt.

Pay off time, considering debt, is infinity, just on financing costs alone. And that's ignoring having to amortise the stadium as well.

If you're a sugar daddy, 100% makes sense to build a stadium for Inter, itll give your asset another 50mil a year of revenue and that means better FFP compliance. But for any sort of sensible owner, it gets much more difficult. And, yes, we can sell naming rights etc as well, but Juve get 10m a year from Allianz for training kit AND naming rights I think? So its not going to change the needle much.

They probably aren't but the agent (Zahavi) is driving this move. Lopez contract runs in 2025 so next summer Sassuolo needs to sell.
Grande, Inter's becoming a shop window, so Sassuolo. Lopez and his agent to get more exposure and more money. We should charge them for rent.

Asllani started playing at Empoli only when Ricci left for Torino. He came to Inter with 6 months Serie A experience. He's talented but he's raw.

I had argued at the time Ricci was the real gem of Empoli who was more ready and with higher upside. He went to Torino for just 8m and now Cairo values him at over 25m.

Ricci isn’t really good enough as things stand either, he would be sitting as much on the bench as Asllani has, so it would not really have made much of a difference.

Also it’s not necessarily that easy to pick out a talent that age, you look at their data and sending out scouts but it’s always a shot in the dark to some degree.

Asllani, Ricci, Casadei, Rovella and Miretti was really the talked about midfielder around that age group, latter two owned by Juve at that time and we kinda thrown one out.

But at end of days we can’t really know for sure which of these will actually make it.

Honestly, the only way I can make sense of Lopez is that we're swapping Sensi with him. We will probably have to chip in some money as Lopez is younger, more fit and cheaper on wages (eligible for GD). In which case, Hakan Lopez and Asllani will have to cover the mezzala spot at times. Not ideal but can work.

Loan swapping Lopez and Asllani just make no sense, we won't own him in the end and we will be short on midfielders very soon once Sensi inevitably gets injured.
Yeah, Sensi can play his old role at Sassuolo and earn more minutes, and Maxime can finally leave Sassuolo.

It appears that Sensi's No. 5 is no longer available in stores.

I'd be glad about Sensi staying, but perhaps management thought his annual cost of 10.7 million was too high for a backup role.

There is one problem, though: if it is a loan swap, Inter will most likely extend Sensi's contract first because he is in his final year of his contract, which means we will spread his amortisation; if he is not redeemed by Sassuolo, we will be stuck with his high annual cost once again.

It makes sense as Inzaghi does not trust to Asllani obviously. Lopez will be substitute of Hakan, and he is better than Asllani at the moment. The latter will get much more playing time which is quite important for his development.

I have long been a Maxime Lopez fan. Certainly much more ready than Asllani, who desperately needs playing time. Would do this swap in a heartbeat.
Straight swap or loan swap with the option to buy? My question is, would you let go of Asllani altogether, if it meant getting Lopez?

I'm very undecided about Asllani. He has shown glimpses of quality. Seems humble and ready to work, yet obviously Limone sees something, or rather, doesn't see it. And the sad part is - we will never actually get to see for ourselves if he doesn't play him more.

I don't think Sassuolo would accept to "develop" Asllani without nothing in return. It makes no sense.

Maybe it’s for Sensi & Aslani in return for Lopez, and then we sign someone else… Pererya or whomever?

Why? It's because it's sold out, or he's giving the number to Pavard, or he's out of Inter?

2 for 1... Nah. Even if that one was an actual proper baller it wouldn't make any sense. Plusm we don't have any money left and it's the last day of the mercato tomorrow.

Agoume and Asllani, maybe.

Probably the latter, or perhaps he doesn't have permission to use that number from the one and only Gagliardini.
