What kind of a player do you expect as a backup? Inter current backup is Arnautovic who hadn't scored more than 10 league goals in a season till he joined Bologna at 32.

Pretty sure Arnautovic did it at least once with some of Twente, Stoke, West Ham and Bremen.

My point is we’d be buying a player at the top of his market price, which is inflated by form he’s never shown before in a new attacking system. They’re going to want starter money for a guy with no proven track record. If we can afford what they’re going to want for him I think we can find a more proven striker, even if they’re a bit older. Taremi for example is still available.

I don't know if Taremi can be considered proven considering he has only played in Portugal.
