I think at one point we offered 23mln for him including the bonuses, but Porto refused. Most probably because they thought, the bidding war could have been started. Not happened.

No he needs to keep his most expensive assets and keep us competitive. We need to be in champions next season to be attractive to sponsors/buyers/new players

Even spending to make it happen if the right players are available is likely.

I didn't watch too much of him, but from what I've seen he reminds me of Icardi. A forward who barely touches the ball,. mainly when he shoots.
I'm not sure do we need such a player.

Really depends now whether he wants to sell the club or not, if his attention is to sell Inter, selling the bigger assets is counter productive.

If he intends to keep the club that’s a different story, however I have some difficulty in seeing how he can raise the necessary fonds to avoid handing it over too Oaktree, so selling seem the more rational decision.

He’s pretty deadly inside the box from what I’ve seen. If you need goals, there’s a lot worse players than Retegui.

Regardless, the ship has sailed. He’s started well for Genoa and they won’t be selling in January.

Won't compare him with Icardi, more Immobile or Benzema with more agility and weaker on hold up, strength and vision respectively, but he does drop back and try to be to passing target or flick forward for others to run, but not a high successful rate; a bigger active area and heat map than Icardi I can imagine, but less lethal in the box, also not exactly a playmaker striker, for sure a shoot first type if opportunities occur.
A very good choice if we want someone that can rotate both LM and Thuram and can play 90 mins; won't consider him an impact sub though.

I don’t really see a better realistic option in the market that can potentially make an impact immediately.

Taremi and his camp made unrealistic demands at the last minute with Milan. The deal was done and they wanted higher agent fees which was denied. I'd pass on him.

How much was that unrealistic though? As far as I know, Milan was on fault. They could not offer higher than 1.2m lol.
