Arnautovic as a cheap punt to replace permacunt Correa is fine. But 15-20mil

Who we sign to replace Lukaku will make or break this mercato and at the moment it's looking far closer to broke.

Wálter Samuel

But we can tell by his game decisions that he's not very smart.

Get Dybala for 25 mil, stop this Arnautović nonsense, he is banter era level player.
His release clause expired, no way they are letting him go for that low.

I'll say one thing, is that's he looks very comfortable playing with his back to goal

People, please try to understand we ain't gonna pay 15m for Arnautovic.

We also need a striker and Arnautovic fits the profile very well to replace Dzeko. He doesn't have to be some fast runner so the age is not a concern (apart from possible injuries). He has the skill and the size but he doesn't have to carry our offence or anything so it's a fit in my books.

What he has to do then? Just appear? Even at his worse Dzeko is at least 10 times better than whatever version of Arnautovic you pick.

He is tall ✅
He has skills.. what skills? Ibra wanna be joggle with bubblegum? He had 2% of those when he was 17 and we all loved it.

I'd rather we take Lakaka back than Arnautovic.

Actually I'd rather we get Balogun. And I hate the idea of spending 40m for him.

Arnautovic is not what we need nor does he poses anything we need.

Also, we should stop using the phrase "well, he won't cost us much, so if we plays good it's a win, and if he doesn't, we don't lose much, just 5m".

Arnautovic actually is quite skillful. He's actually improved his game quite a bit over the years, has good hold-up play and can link up. I believe his scoring record has been quite good over the last two years.

The problem is the situation we are in, where we may potentially overpay for Arnautovic or even have him as the 2nd/3rd striker, when we had higher expectations.

Arnautovic as a Correa replacement is a big upgrade. I just want someone else to compete with Thuram for the starting spot.

He is 34. Ofc he has some skills to play the game. He isn't total trash. But he isn't the goalscorer we need.

He isn't even at Rocchi level when Rocchi joined us. He never reached that level in his career tbh. Let's just stop playing games guys... We need someone who will score at least 15 goals with zero penalties in the league.

If we're go for 34 year olds, just go for Immobile and win the title.

As time goes, I'm thinking that we will play some weird hybrid formation and our midfielders will score a lot this season...

Your suggestion is Immobile. And what if Lotito tells you okay, give me 50m.

Yes, our midfielders will score more but we need intelligent strikers for that and in my books, skilled target player like Arnautovic fits to that well. The guy we gonna sign isn't suppose to score 20 goals, that's not likely or something to be expected.

Didnt Bologna put a cray price tag on Arnautovic last season when Man U was after him?

I don’t expect that they will turn around now and demand anything less.

they made a deal with him that if a top club comes asking for him again they will let him go... I guess they didn't mention to him that they will value him 20M... He must be pissed... Motta also said that Arnautovic deserves to go to a top club, so now its pretty much up to him to force his way out for a normal cost.

Then why sign him? If it's not expected from him to score lots of goals? För his dumb bookings? Are we about to sign someone to give him Correa minutes and with that zero expectations?

Also, I don't see him as a target man. I don't think that he ever was considered that. He was pacey, explosive player, but he is 34 now.

It's not like he will enter late in the game and score goals. It was never his profile to be or do that.

As for the Immobile price tag that you mentioned; you pay that in 3 installments of 10m and the rest 20m at the end of the 3 year loan :D the inter way.

But you get a leader and a scudetto for two years.

Lotito is not selling Immobile on the cheap a week before the season starts. Forget about him.

As for Arna, he’s a big dude who uses his size well. He isn’t bereft of skill either. We’re definitely not paying €15m for him but he’ll push hard for the move and Bologna will have no choice but to eventually accept. They don’t want an unhappy Arnautovic in the locker room.

Don't have one.

He was also linked with milan this summer, but that thing probably collapsed when maldini got a boot. So yeah, he is probably desperate for a move.

There is no 20 goal scorer in the market we could sign. I mean someone who could likely score that many goals. I doubt Immobile is a realistic target but could be wrong.

A 16 goal scorer for the league will do. So idea Dia. He doesn't seem to be too costly and wouldn't be too young for Inzaghi's liking.

Immobile does not guarantee a Scudetto though. He only scored 2 goals more than Arnautovic despite playing 10 games more.

I also don't see why Lotito would do us any favours in terms of payment terms.
