Yup. I think that's what Ausillio was alluding to as well when he said we're looking for someone whose primary role is scoring goals. That takes Beto off the table, as he's not that great a goal-scorer.

I assume that brings Taremi to the top of the list alongside Balogun given he both scores and assists a lot, and also has Champions League experience. 30 million is just so much for a 31 year old with one year left on their contract.

We really need to make the right decision though. I'd rather slightly overpay for someone that management feels can fit into the team and the way Inzaghi wants to play. If Taremi is that guy, so be it, as long as we can push the price down a bit.

I get that he's older, but I don't want us to go for a younger option simply because they're younger like Beto, who is just such a bad fit for this team.

In general, strikers are expensive and it's not easy to find an affordable striker unless we are buying someone totally unproven, like Hojlund was when Atalanta got him.

Even our very own Pinamonti cost 20 million, and everyone here can agree he's a fairly limited and average player - and that was also selling to Sassuolo, a team that I don't believe pay too much for players.

10 will do it, we have a stronger midfield to contribute the rest. Basically we need to replace lukaku and dzeko 19 goals with Thuram and another forward and midfield.

no alexis sanchez for 4th/5th backup spot please..he’s already 34 and would still try to demand high salary.. we should really consider signing mariano diaz

perhaps for 3rd striker, we can try for ansu fati from barcelona as alternative to balogun..barcelona need money and they are struggling to even register their newly signing player. ansu fati although past year was hampered bu injury but would offer us different options in attack. if he is on form, he is better than balogun

Taremi is the guy for sporting project, Balogun is the guy for the financial project.

If we get Balogun, we can't sign Sanchez for Correa, wouldn't make any sense. Then we would sign someone like Zapata.

If it's Taremi, Sanchez for Correa would make a lot of sense.

Don't know anything about this Orban except that he's had some very questionable behavior in the past.

Milito wasn't a sexy signing as well, so we should stop to act as if signing Taremi would be like the end of the world. BUT: We have to decide what is more important: Having the chance to make plusvalenza with a future sale or having a striker who is "already ready". Both Thuram and Lautaro are already quite young so an experience striker wouldn't be that bad. This doesn't include Morata, he should stay the fuck away

At least Taremi has the record of consistent scoring and assisting over the past 3 years at Porto. And goals at CL aswell. He's clearly their go to guy in attack, does all kinds of stuff.

But the price cannot be 30m, not with this resale value (close to zero) and contract situation (next year left).

yes, but he did that after we buy him, so I don't get your point, maybe they will too, who knows, we may buy some proven striker and he maybe flops with us, look Hazard for example, you never know

That would really be the best case scenario. I can see Taremi deliver in his first 2 seasons here. Orban isn’t ready to start for us yet. But even a blind men can see the potency. Problem is Taremi can’t be bought for 15 mln. Although that would be a very reasonable price given his age an contract. Orban seems to be available for 20 mln tho.
