Sadly Arnautovic wasn't a freebie. It was a waste of €13 mil.

Yeah sure except for this where he for the first made a mixed bag with Klaassen, Cuadrado and Sanchez that hasn’t really delivered to a degree we needed.

I do think Arerbi and De Vrij can fulfill our needs for one more season. Offcourse Buongiorno would be great. But there is a bigger need for attacking reinforcements imo.

Club world cup coming up next season with what 70/90 games. Also there was rumours De Vrij wanted to go back home to Holland.

Defence win titles and I just get the feeling this will be more important next season.

No, we need to get that preferably younger CB. Acerbi isn’t getting any younger and for all we know could be his last good season he had this term, there just no guarantee once players hit that age.

It is just too high a gamble not trying to rejuvenate that position this summer. Also we need to remember that player need to be slowly integrated into the back line, it’s far to be preferred than getting a new one in 2025 and toss for the lions because that is after all what we would be forced into if we do not act now.

That position alongside sub attackers need to be solved, everything else can be considered once that is solved.

Pepe is 41. Still plays for Porto and scores headers too. Acerbi can easily play for a few more years.
