I was never really impressed by this guy at Vitesse. He was their captain and after a real shaky start he became more stable over time. Really good in the air, fast and strong. Bad with the ball at his feet and easy to press when he has the ball on his weak feet. Was out of contract past season and Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord didn’t want him. Is having a good debut season at the Bundesliga tho.

I don’t see Inter material in this guy. But that being said, van Dijk didn’t impress in the Netherlands neither. Maybe the Bundesliga suits his style better. But given his lack of tactical awareness i really doubt he would suit the Serie A…

Signing Napoli targets is a much better approach than our current one of shopping at laziomart.

In terms of playing style he's close to Skriniar (don't @ me, i said style not quality). Physical, strong, great in the air, scoring threat from set pieces but passing is barely decent and he lacks in pace. A season revelation for Union for sure and a promising cb but if we are to stick with Limone i would prefer someone faster and good with ball on his feet.

I wouldn't really call him fast. I would even argue it's one of his biggest weakness.

With Chelsea failing miserably and probably needing to balance the books.

I would not mind throwing Kalidou Koulibaly a lifeline to return to Italy on the cheap. Skriniar our the door, De Vrij will probably go and Acerbi isn't as good. I think he would be a pragmatic signing depending on the fee or salary.

Chelsea would have to pay like half of his salary. Well, that's not even out of the question.

If we seriously have plans for a 4-mans defense (let’s hope so!), but we are going in to the season with de Vrij and Acerbi as back-ups, than i can’t take it serious. Acerbi is a total disaster in that formation and de Vrij isn’t good at it either. And both are on high wages too… Typical Inter move tho.

Missing the CL would have the advantage that we can't keep those players. We have to change our squad big time and with no CL money at least we are forced to do this. Like I have written in another thread: Giving Dzeko and SdV 9million net is absolute madness

You know what! That is the reason I just don`t fucking care, if we miss the CL! I am just tired with all of this shit with grandpas who came here on high wages. The ceiling is low, they are all over their peak and we don`t develop any young player. We are like scavengers.

It is like amputating an arm is beneficial so we won't get a scratch anymore. If we miss UCL, what we get is not a financially prudent team, but a crippled team without money which keeps spending extravagant money on useless players. We better hope we still get an UCL spot while our management fixes their mercato.

It`s not about fixing our mercatto, is about changing the modus operandi. Only with grandpas at the tail of their career and loaning the trash of bigger teams we have no ceiling.

Imagine last year we sold Skriniar to PSG for a big sum (we remember the numbers) and bought a korean defender from Fnerbahce, nobody heard about him and a young striker from fucking Georgia, with the half of money from Skriniar. Now you can imagine the rage and the curses on this forum!
But this is not hypothetical. This was the reality and Napoli will win the scudetto and these 2 are real gems.

I want to see this type of approach at Inter. When was the last time we bought an under the radar player from a lower league (Belgium, Holland, Ausrtria and so on) or lower team outside Italy, that you can say - indeed, this was a good scouting. And don`t need to be a hit just from the start. Dumfries was already on NT. Lautaro was already known (Atletico also wanted him). You need to go back in time to Mancini days to find such players (Brozo, Kovacic). Nearly 10 years ago.
We need badly a good scouting department and a program to develop players. If missing the CL would force us to implement such things, because we have no alternative, so be it. Fuck CL! I don`t care.

In hindsight and ideal world, yes. But Napoli did that while still had secured their CL spot the previous season. If we miss CL, all the money from Lautaro or Bastoni or both would go directly to compensate for the income deficits. We are still poor and without key players at the same time. We still rely on grandpas, coz they are cheap; but not the proven ones like Dzeko or Mikhy but trashy from Fiorentina or Lazio.

In short, we are fucked more without top4  Let's hope Inzaghi for once drops his choking DNA, then we could afford a better coach next season.
