28 years old, still has at least 5 years at top level and he is at his peak. 16 Million is a cracking price for the player of his quality. He scores goals galore and that's what matters for strikers when you have good midfield to support.

Of course Gomez is more expensive than Belfodil or Icardi... but we are talking about Mario Gomez! 75 goals in 115 games for Bayern. A proven goal scorer, experienced and successful at the top level. Any which way you look at it, 16m plus 5m gross wages is a steal. Bayern broke the all time Bundesliga record transfer fee in 2009 when they bought him. And he only turns 28 this month, ie peak age.

Inter desperately needed a striker to replace Milito, who is on 9m gross wages. At that cost, IMO Gomez was a great option, as he seems to have the characteristics that Mazzarri needs from his no9.

Fiorentina are having another awesome mercato, we could learn a lot from them. Gomez, Joaquin, & Cuadrado bought, plus also the likes of Ambrosini & Marcos Alonso. Plus the wild card Rossi is getting fit, to add to what was already one of the most attractive teams to watch in Serie A. Even if they lose Jovetic now, they are only better from last season.

Of course gomez will score goals and help fio next season. Imagine fio were able to be that good without a real forward for a full 38 games last season.

Gomez is underrated as fuck. Yes, he doesn't dribble and yes, he is not clinical but dude is fast as fuck, has incredible work rate, strength and knows how to play system football. ..aka, legit for what fio needs.

Will be very interesting to see how he works out and the rossi wildcard. Imagine fio "can" get rid of both adem and jojo and still be legit

We have one great striker past his prime that can even in this situation deliver 10 goals, one great striker in palacio who has shown to be more then reliable both in scoring and creating and 2 very promising strikers who will fight to deserve the inter spot for the forward of the future and u still complain about Gomez.

Fiorentina did a great deal but the wages of Palacio + Icardi + Belfodil probably don't even match the wage of Gomez so yeah i prefer our choice.

It's 5 mils net. Palacio earns 2.5 net, Icardi 1, and Belfodil 800, which is less than GOmez earnings.
