Fine, I'll get serious.

He's actually the exact kind of striker I want, intelligent movement, good linkup play, and I don't give a fuck about finishing but he's good enough at it. Trouble is that he's behind Milito in the pecking order. I want a new CF to displace Milito, ideally I want to sign a young Milito because that's exactly the kind of player to complete our attack (IMO). Still, Rocchi is that kind of player, just a tad too old. Having said that, if Milito goes, then I'm all for keeping Rocchi.

I haven't seen enough of Icardi to know exactly what he's like, but the little I have seen suggests to me that he's a talented poacher, not necessarily an all-rounder. He knows how to get into goalscoring positions, he knows how to get on the end of chances, he loves playing on the shoulder of the last defender, he's got a jet engine shoved up his ass or something (ie he's fast), but I've never seen him link up and open up space for his teammates. I mean, it's probably got a lot to do with Samp's tactics, he's the main outlet and his job is to break, so he might very well surprise me (and I hope he does). Until then, I'll keep saying that we'd benefit from an extra CF to start ahead of Icardi and Milito.

Price tag is another concern of course, but there are good deals to be made for every position.

Perhaps I'm being naive, but I am really excited to see Icardi play for us, really impressed with his confidence and especially his finishing in the first game against Rube. And if it wasn't for his age, Rocchi would a pretty good backup for next season, funnily enough I was really impressed with his pace, thought he'd be some sort of snail but he's pretty quick. My little dream is Higuain, but I know Madrid would want a rather big amount of dinero...

Alot of money that we don't currently have or are unwilling to spend. If we went after JoJo we would offer 10.5 m plus a few useless rotation players and primavera players as "make weights". It's even worse for a player like Gomez. We were rumored to be offering 4 m plus players. That's pretty embarrassing especially when you know there are other clubs interested.

I get the concept of low-balling, but comeon. Offering peanuts for proven players. I'm almost convinced that our previous transfer campaigns for players like Lucas, Tevez, Lavezzi, Paulinho and whatever other marquee players we were linked to was merely a smokescreen to keep fans interested and to influence season ticket sales. There is no way we can buy quality players by offering some of the amounts we have been reported as offering.

I have feeling that Mazzarri requires a target-man striker to suit his playing formation. Almost every club playing with 3-5-2 formation has at least one striker to be the pinpoint where the wingers cross to (Cavani in Napoli, Toni in Fiorentina). Juve don't have this kind of player, but they compensate that with abundance of goal-scoring midfielders. Nevertheless, due to the same reason, they've signed Llorente for next season. If that's the case, I don't think that we have reliable set of strikers to fit the bill: Palacio is more all-around type of striker, Milito is getting old and seems won't be ready at the beginning of season due to injury, so it leaves us with the only option with Icardi who, in my perspective, is not proven yet and quite a gamble to put too much pressure on his back for getting us back to top position.
