Anyway, I'd take Cristico if Maicon were to leave. Neither him or Yuto can replace Maicon's offensive role but they're both very solid in all areas.

I dont think maicon would leave for anyone other than Real Madrid.
If were to go buy a replacement starter for his departure I would say Van der Weil.

I think Maicon will stay & recapture his form, he's been trying to do to much upfront and needs to distrubute the ball and run back
I do like Criscito and think he is talented but I think Santon, Ranocchia would be enough Italians in the backline as we may bring in Viviano to be GK or may wait to use Bardi the Italy u21 keeper.

I only bring up the Italian factor as i think we have only been more heavily linked to Criscito because we are being rumored that we may be reinforcing our Italian core this summer.

I have hopes for Santon who only turned 20 while on loan. He is Italy u21 captain.
We only loanded him since we had to claw our way back up the table and couldnt afford to develop him.

Nagatomo has deff been impressing me but whether or not he will be a starter remains to be seen.
He may just become a young cheap speedy Sub for when starters are injured or need to be rested.

We are still rumored to be going for Aguirregaray
He's the young Uruguyan who started at RB for Penerol as they won thier league this year.

I would deff take Criscito at LB over Clichy who we have been linked to.

So staying on topic here, all I can see is a report from April regarding interest from Inter in the Mats Hummels case. Has anyone seen or heard anything more about it? He is a powerful force and would surely add some depth to our squad. I would love to see him to be one of our top priorities this summer.

There was nothing more about him...but anyway he shouldn't be a priority unless there is additional cash invested in transfers, otherwise money should be invested in midfield and a forward

Dunno how good Armero is at defending. He's been playing as left wingback (so in defence there are three CBs), not left fullback.

Wingback is basicly a better fullback(offensively) with more stamina. But he has to be equaly adept in defense, as a sideback. Once a team is defending deep, a wingback is acting exactly like sideback.

Yeah, and my concern is how good Armero is at defending. If player is playing as wingback, it doesn't automatically mean he's just a offensively better fullback with more stamina.

Like I tried to explain above Cafe, you don't have to be concerned. We're not talking here about a left midfielder, who has a defender behind him to cover.

A left wingback, still has to be adept at defending, just like a sideback. The fact, there is 3 central defenders doesn't mean he doesn't play like sideback during certain stages of a game.

As for Armero, the guy has imense stamina, and is very fast. Definetly he was one of the suprises for Udinese this year. The interest in him is not suprising.

Hummels would be really expensive. We would have to sell Lucio as well as I dont see him being happy on the bench. Big money this year should go for midfield. Also a wingback if Maicon leaves.

Armero plays LB for Colombia and has been pretty impressive. He doesn't get tired and is very good at defending or at least was against Spain and the other games he has playd. I think he is worth 10 million euro which is what Liverpool is rumored to offer for him
