I seriously hope Juve or Viola grab Sissoko. We dont need him, he is not good enough.
Why are we getting linked with so many mediocre players like Sissoko and Maniche during this transfer window??
Elano would be good, better than the above mentioned two. Plus we much rather need an AM, rather than adding another DM to our ranks. I havent seen that much of Elano, but I think he could be a good temporary solution, while we have so many players injured.

We need to sign a Quaresma or a Diego in the summer.

Dacourt isnt a very good passer but he's been very important for us. Is Sissoko that much worse? If he's coming its to replace Dacourt.

The question isn't whether he is better than dacourt it's whether he is really much better than Pele. I reckon there's not much between except xp and pele is the better passer.

Mark Bresciano is on the cusp of a dream move to Inter Milan as the defending Serie A champions move to bolster a midfield decimated by injuries.

The name of the Palermo-based Socceroos star has loomed large in the Nerazzuri boardroom over the past week with president Massimo Moratti ready to move quickly to compensate for the temporary loss of lynchpins Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo, Olivier Dacourt and Dejan Stankovic.

Both a loan move and a permanent switch are on the table with Bresciano’s ability to break from midfield and score spectacular goals of particular interest to Inter coach Roberto Mancini.

Just back in Sicily after a Christmas break with family in his hometown of Melbourne, Bresciano admits to being stunned by Inter’s interest.

‘’It was news to me when I got back but it’s an exciting prospect and it’s very flattering to be linked with such a big club,’’ he confessed.

‘’We’ll see what happens, there is always speculation this time of year but if this leads to anything then it’s good for me."

‘’It shows that the work you do over the seasons is paying off, and that people are looking at you and talking about you.’’

Bresciano is all the more surprised since his form has suffered from a combination of niggling injuries and the hangover of being denied a move to the Premiership after negotiations between Palermo and Manchester City broke down over the payment terms of what he thought was a done deal.

‘’I haven’t really played anywhere near my best this season. I’ve found it hard to readjust after the City move didn’t go through,” he admitted.

‘’It’s affected me mentally and it’s taken me a while to get back in to the rhythm - I think the winter break has been the best thing that could have happened to me."

‘’I feel fresher mentally and physically and ready to move forward again.’’

Bresciano is in the mix along with the likes of club team-mate Fabio Henrique Simplicio, Atletico Madrid’s Maniche and Real Madrid’s Mahamadou Diarra to solve Inter’s woes.

And he will know by the end of this week whether he remains with Palermo, where he has two more seasons to run on his deal, or the latest of acquisition of an Inter side seven points clear at the top of Serie A having won last season’s crown by a massive 22 points.

It is also in the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champions League where Harry Kewell’s Liverpool stand in their way in the Round of 16.

Despite the machinations at club level, Bresciano’s gaze remains glued to the international arena despite not yet making contact with new Socceroos boss Pim Verbeek.

But he has a message for the Dutchman: Send for me any time you like.

‘’We’ve kept missing each other,’’ he said. ‘’But I’m definitely available for the Qatar match (on February 6 at the Telstra Dome).‘’

‘’Of ourse if I get the call, it will be difficult. We play in Serie A on the Sunday, so I wouldn’t be in Melbourne until the day before the game. ‘’

‘’Physically, you aren’t going to be 100 per cent but we’ve just got to do it; get on with it and not worry too much.‘’

‘’If it came to the end of the group stage and we’d missed out on qualifying for the World Cup by one point and I hadn’t played in all the matches I could then I’d be kicking myself in the head.‘’

‘’It’s time to sacrifice everything to make sure we get to the World Cup. You don’t want to look back with any regrets.‘’

‘’It’s a hard group and we have to give everything.‘’
‘’It’s down to the coach of course on who he wants to pick and I’ll just wait and see what he wants to do.’’

Bresciano isnt even a regular for Palermo. He deserves some team like Man City or Getafe or something, definitely not Inter.

Sissoko, Bresciano, Maniche... ugh.

Talk about some depressing rumors. If any of these come true, I'm gonna shoot myself in the foot and pack the wound with hot fudge. These players are suitable for clubs like Palermo or Man City but not Inter. I hope Moratti opens his wallet this summer because Rubentus and Milan are gonna be strengthening their squads from what I've heard. We have a very good team but it's getting significantly older each year. We don't wanna end up like our cugini do we?

his form hasnt been up to scratch this season for sure

but hes certainly has enough talent to play for inter

if you can count on anything, is that all aussies give 110% regardless of playing without a leg or not, its inbred into our culture

hed become a fan favourite the same way karagounis did and he can play ALL midfield positions if required

if anyone remembered the way bresciano played when hiddink was manager of australia, theyd know full well that bresciano thrives in attacking systems with lots of ball movement and off-the-ball running

either way, we're not talking about a full transfer, a loan move is currently on the table

Right now I don't think a star transfer would be ideal. The only one available for CL is Ballack. The others are taken. Bresciano could cut it for six months before we purchase a really great player.

Valeri seems interesting and I can't imagine he would ever reject Inter, even though he says he needs to think it over.

So, what are our options uptil now. We can totally forget Ballack for obvious reasons, as he's back in the CHelsea squad, especially after all the injuries back there as well.

Elano's rumours are going down but you can't predict the transfers just based on rumours.

I am not too sure with Maniche, coz he has not been the player he once was, since he left for Russia. (There's a good chance that he might be the one who would be joining the team but I do hope we get a better one)

Valeri seems to be an interesting player but he might take time to adjust or can we risk with him ? It's also been said that he might join us in the summer, Carvalho's name also popping up there for the summer market.

It was good to read and hear of Menez earlier but it was bad to hear all about his cons later on, but you never know. He's young and all few have seen is 1/2/3/4 games of him, sometimes not enough to judge a player's way of playing game. I GUESS.

I am not sure players like Sissoko, Bresciano would bring any improvement to the squad.

Simplicio is a good player but I doubt Palermo would let us get him for the price we would be willing to pay.

If rumours are true, we are willing to spend some good bucks for a player or two and the 2 names I have read are - DE ROSSI &/or AQUILANI. May be Inter really wants to buy a/to be world class Italian player.:D

At the same time, I wouldn't rule out the likes of Rosina and Quag.

Barone is another player we are rumoured to and he could well be a good replacement for Dacourt but I am damn sure that he would not bring any change to the squad. I am hoping we sign a player who could bring us that missing spark in the creativity park.:)

At the end of the day, I wouldn't go bonkers if we do indeed sign Maniche (which has a good probability), as he could well replace the injured Stankovic (he might be out for a long time, if he needs to be operated). It's been an interesting Inter since some years, as players have been coming here to show the world one last time as to who they really are (I mean positively). lol. Maniche has a good vision on goal (long shots) and I guess he chose the worst path when he went to Russia. IF he does join Inter, I hope it would only be for the good of our club and I do think that the transfer won't be a waste.

At the same time, VALERI does soung interesting day by day !!

It's reported Maniche will be free to go on loan, so Inter has a free passage to get him for free for 6 months. If Maniche deal must happen, this is the ideal way. Inter won't be commited to Maniche longer than this 6 months when he is needed because of injuries (Dacourt and Samuel, Stankovic unsure). Inter doesn't have to pay any transfer fee and Maniche won't stay at Inter after the season, I'm pretty sure of that.

Next summer Inter will find a star midfielder but now it isn't the right time as the market isn't so large. Valeri would be available (if Inter put some effort), since the season in Argentina has ended (new one starts pretty soon), put he would be quite risky at this point of the season. Better for him to get playing time since it wouldn't be possible at Inter, now when the hard games starts (CL 2nd phase and important last part of the Scudetto).

Seems Maniche is sealed. Gazzetta, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport all mentioned it in their headlines.

I serioulsy hope we dont sign Maniche, but just get him on loan for 6 months. Infact I was hoping we dont do anything with Maniche. But all the major newspapers in Italy are reporting that he is as good as ours.
Also according to Goal.com, we are appraoching Juve for Almiron.
Serioulsy WTF is Moratti smoking these days?

It's rumoured there is a weird clause in the deal. If Inter wins Scudetto, Inter must buy Maniche from Atletico Madrid. Shit, that ain't nice.

Inter for Almiron??????

hi guys,

reports here in Greece continually claim that Inter is interersted in jube's Almiron and have approached their officials asking for a loan move for the argentinian..

Almiron was a breath away for Olympiacos as his team seriously considered the Greek team's offer, however the italian champions seem to be really interested..

Mancio said once that Serghio Almiron reminds him of Juan Sebastian Veron and that he would like to see him in the nerazzurri shirt...

Here's another report from tribalfootball.com this time:

"Inter Milan contact Juventus for Almiron
tribalfootball.com - January 08, 2008

Inter Milan have made contact with Juventus over the availability of Sergio Almiron.
The Argentine is reluctant to accept a loan offer from Olympiacos and would prefer to remain in Italy this season.

Inter are drawing up plans of a loan bid for Almiron, who would arrive as cover for Dejan Stankovic."

And the rumours have also come up saying that Juventus reacted negatively to Inter's proposal. Almiron would indeed be a good replacement for Dacourt and Stankovic though but I doubt he would bring any creativity. But he would help Mancini to continue with the diamond midfield and I do think that Almiron can get back his form with our playing style.

:)

He is not way off. The player we buy in January will be one that has quality, but as Moratti said, does not alter the team's good moment. This means that the player probably won't be a starter whenever Inter is at full strength. The player will most likely be a short-term solution.
