last summer there was an offer for brozovic of 18 mln euros by everton iirc
Anyone misses this guy?
He is exactly the AMC we lack in recent games. Screamer, genius pass to unlock the defense, free-kick, corner-kick...
We sold him for freaking 7m. I don't blame Sabatini though, I blame FFP, the biggest bullshit in football history.
NoBanega was shit. He had the odd good game here and there but overall was a dissapointment. Lets stop trying to pretend he wohkd be our 'saviour' this season.
Spalletti has never played with a player who has similar characteristics to Banega. The only even mildly comparable players are Strootman (who is far superior defensively) and Valero (who clearly is more comfortable playing deeper). So going to choose to trust Spalletti on this one.
Also, we needed that 9 million capital gain for FFP.

Haven't we spent most of Banega's 9m FFP capital gain on Valero? If so, then all what we've done is trading Banega with Valero (indirectly).
Just realized that according to transfermarkt, Banega's sale to Sevilla was 7m and not 9m. Don't know how true is that, but I don't think that such little income is worth losing a player with Banega's characteristics. I think both Sabatini and Spalletti have made a significant mistake on this.
Banega was our only capable AM with Brozo and Mario both too inconsistent and weak mentally. He was a monster before we buy him and playing like a monster again at Sevilla.
Banega will be like Kovacic and Coutinho in players we regret selling
Banega also was quite inconsistent and he wasn't good enough for AM at Italy.
