Whether he ever reaches his potential, we must wait and see, but based on how highly I rate the kid (skill wise, not as a human being), 30 million seems reasonable to me. Now, it is impossible for me to have the mindset of a Man United fan looking in, so the accuracy of that statement may not be 100%...

But no, you're right. He offended a lot of people, and that's really unacceptable. But the sort of knee-jerk reaction that is selling him, when very few people actually dispute his technical ability, could very well come back to haunt us, and that is why people are so willing to forgive him.
