Not true cloud fairy...... I have seen Maxwell make some solid tackles when he is back. He just needs to get back into his groove. When he is feeling it in games he has done much more than I had expected of him.

I think Khaled is stretching it though, among the best LBs in the world right now? Nah man he is close but he is still a defender that is very mediocre at his primary duties. Even if he is an attacking fullback he is way below par at getting back in position even when he is not involved in the attack.

Yes but if you notice when he is defending he always looks careless and tired but when he is going forward is as good as it gets....i think its got more to do with carelessness than him actually being bad at defending.

Also in my opinion...i think him along with marcello are among the best in the world right now.

that is his groove, there is no better! he has peaked and the only way hes going to defend better is by increasing his stamina and workrate and actually getting back to defend

i frankly wished he is considered a midfielder b/c hes not a defender

the reason hes still getting chances is because theres noone to kick him out of the first team!

That + the fact that he is a very close friend of ibra's. Mancini isnt stupid enough to pull a cuper and get on the bad side with the only player who really makes a difference in the team. Ibra is worth more than the few mistakes maxwell makes.

We are a one man team, without ibra we would just be an average team battling for cl spots.

Its actualy abit sad :|

How did Maxwell play against CSKA the other day? He was playing in front on Chivu right? Before he came to Inter, he was often mentioned as LWB and even winger, rather than LB. Now, as I didn't see any Ajax games with Maxwell featuring in them, I have no idea if this is true or not.

Maybe playing in a flat 4-4-2 midfield, he'll be at more home than he is in defense. Not to mention, it'll cover up his biggest weakness with Chivu right behind him. Just a thought...

He did alright. However, you could see it was a long time ago he played there last time.

I agree on trying Maxwell out in front of Chivu. It will be perfect solution to our left side if it worked out

That will be for a 442 formation and we hope the two can link up well.

However I prefer playing a 4312 formation which does not have a role for both of them

Maxwell is a great player, he just needs to become more consistant and starting scoring a few more and he will become a mainstay at Inter for years to come. I would prefer to see him playing up a little higher on the field with some defensive presence to back him up (ie. Chivu) but whatever.

We depend on Ibra as equally as some team depend on with Drogba, C.Ronaldo, Totti, Gerrard or Kaka and use him less as an excuse when he is not availiable then a team do with Ronaldo.

LOL Han

Maxwell is very good player, and with more games under his belt, he could become irreplacable, or at least regular starter.
I very much like his composure, and he is player that I dont remember when was the last time he kicked ball upfield without thinking.
He likes playing on ground, and likes to do stuff he thinks about, not doing it if he isnt sure in it.
Sometimes it turns out bad and he looses ball, which got us in some trouble, but if he could play more, game after game, I think he could end up,like I said, irreplacable.
