Most Diverse PosterEvery man, child and a woman on this forum or outside knows that 9golan for Vecino and Politano upfront instead with Miranda instead of Dumbo would be the most idealistic line-up. I hope Spalo has a very good excuse for not doing what is obvious.

Vecino is a genius. He saw that Spalletti benched Miranda for his mistake on the Sassuolo penalty.
Therefore, he knows his best option is to be as far away from our goal when our opponent is attacking. That way, he will never single-handedly contribute to us conceding a goal.

Most Humorous MemberSuddenly changing to 3 at the back? Cancelling players days off? If these aren't the classic symptoms of an Inter coach about to be sacked, then I don't know what is. All we need now is for Moratti to say that he's safe.

imo that's our ideal line up because :
1. we can play narrowly by using Perisic and Politano. both players are good at finding space. while we have Brozo and Nainggolan who have good long range shoot and through pass.
2. we can always interchange the tactic by playing with width. Politano and Perisic have pace and sufficient crossing ability. Vrsalijko and Asamoah are reliable enough to move high up the pitch in supporting our attack.
3. it is defensively not bad. last season Gagliardini contributed alot in defense. he won many balls, tackles, and aerial duels.
4. i am afraid that now Spalletti is full of himself.

Happy to see that the forum share the same opinion about Vecino and Gagliardini. The Italian is the most underrated player in our squad, he gives balance like nobody else in the team but Spalletti doesn’t get it. I’m waiting sine Inter - Fiorentina 2017/18... first game.

Best Overall PosterI am trying to understand Spalletti's logic behind this lineup but i really can't. Ausilio and Spalletti built the squad based on the fact we're going to play 4-2-3-1 but after just one game Spalletti has switched to a back 3. We don't have the players for that system. Skriniar looks uncomfortable in a back 3. Vrsaljko is a solid fullback but he isn't a wingback and Asamoah is just decent which basically means no attacking threat from our wingbacks. Spalletti is also benching one of our best performers of the first two matches (Politano) and he's starting once again one of our worst (Vecino). I hope Spal knows better and he ends up being proven right but i am not really confident about it.

10 years of FIFWe are wasting too many good players on the bench with that formation (Politano, Lautaro, Keita) and exposing the incompetence ones (Dumbo, Vecino). I will not be too surprised if Candreva getting minutes too, as he is the only one capable of playing as RW.
I liked how we played vs Torino 1st half and think that formation will do good. Plus the best Roma-Spallo played with this formation. BUT why did we chase Keita and drop Vidal if Spallo intends to build back 3? :chan:

10 years of FIFSo we took bazillion wingers just so we play a formation without wingers... We all know Gags and Brozovic worked perfectly last year, but somehow Vecino is the prefered choice all of a sudden. Did Spaletti forget about last years tactics of 4 in the back? What the actual fuck?! :yuno:

10 years of FIFI really don't get this 3-man-defence thing. We improved MASSIVELY last season in defensive part of the game. We played mostly 4-man-defence. Why Spalletti goes and changes this? Our wingbacks aren't world class players who are simply excellent in that role. They are just as good as in fullback role, or actually they are suited to fullback role better. Now we are taking Politano out of the pitch to add D'Ambrosio to the defence.
If one wants to see a silver lining there, at least our bench has some depth regarding attacking power.

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFFIF Special OnesMost Humorous MemberAll he had to do was take the replacement pieces and fit them into what he built last year - Vrsaljko in for Cancelo, Asamoah in for D'Ambrosio, Nainggolan in for Rafinha, Politano in for Candreva, and pick a defensive duo from an enviable CB pool.
But instead he's gone and confused the team and himself with this nonsense lineup and inept substitutions and we're 1 point from 6 easy points, all the while playing absolutely disgusting, unsustainable football.
Personally I won't support whatever this is for much longer. May you rediscover your brain, Spalletti.
