^I'd replace gagliardini for Valero and maybe try JM on the right instead of karamoh to start. But I hope we experiment in this game a little and give borja a rest and try candreva in another position or you know, on the bench.

"Hey Candreva, some 19 year old french kid playing his first minutes for his brand new team in an entirely new league, not knowing the language, or style of play and probably barely any of his team-mates, just outshone you and did more and looked more dangerous in 20 minutes than you've done and looked in 6 matches. You even got booed off the pitch by your own supporters last game because they're tired of your shit.
You're 30 and declining in every facet of the game, including stats, and there's not one, single perspective in trying you out in a position you haven't played for 5 years - especially when you compare that the other players who should be competing for that position, are all younger with higher potential and much more likely to feel comfortable there.

Yep, you're starting as our attacking midfielder, buddy."

Yes yes let's put Candreka(the dumbest mofo footballer around) in the most creative role/position...
If Spallo does it...he should stop doing acid then

he has played with success in that position at the beginning of his career, and has a good shot. worth a try, given that noone else has worked in that spot so far

I love the ideas being floated over here with testing some new stuff because its "just" Beneveneto or whatever but i really do not want to go into the derby on the back of a defeat or draw with the team with 0 points on the table. It will be typical Inter to drop points against Beneveneto and i hope Spalletti has his eyes firmly on 3 points and doesn't go around testing something flashy only for us to go into the derby with a defeat and the negativity that will come with it.

3 points here and going into the derby with 19 points on the board and an unbeaten run will be psychologically huge. Also no suspensions and injuries please.

the safest way of 'experimenting' would be to simply switch candreva and joao mario's starting positions. that way if it really does not work, you can simply switch back and you are back to your typical formation.
then if things go well (i.e., we are up by a couple at half time) you can bring in karamoh on the wing, then pinamonti up front, and fianlly maybe cancelo for d'ambrosio to start giving him some minutes or ranocchia/zinho in the back for one of skriniar/miranda.

however, while i understand the concern and by no mean the game should be underestimated, we need to get to a point mentally where we cannot 'fear' a craptastic team like benevento

Spalletti has shown no problem in benching a 45m under-performing midfielder in Mario, so I don't understand why he doesn't do the same for Candreva.

Ranochia to play in Miranda position will be a good test for his confidence.

Because the past 7 years in addition to getting loaned to 3 different clubs aren't an enough test.

I d guess because our options to replace mario are better than our options to replace Candreva. I mean we have JM who him selfe has been under performing, then there s eder who at least last season was pretty poor when played on the wing and than we have a 19 year old kid who is new to serie a and at the club for like 2 months now.

On top of that the player who is probably the best fit for that RW spot besides candreva is injured pretty much since the start of the season.

Maybe prior to Genoa yes, but based on last game, Spalletti now shouldn't have any excuse not to bench Candreva. Both Eder and Karamoh have performed much better than Candreva and they've completely improved our attacking game, resulting in a goal, two red cards, and tons of set-pieces.

Players' choice should be based on their recent performances, otherwise the wrong message will be sent to the team.

I do agree on this even though i could still understand karamoh not starting, but there is no reason to not play eder ahead of candreva ATM.

Karamoh spirit is high, Candreva is low. playing against a team where we should win and score a lot of goals, I think Candreva should start to hopefully get him playing better.

Candreva has been good to us in the derby and we need him high spirited.

Yeah, easy grab. But knowing us, we will most likely bottle against some midtable team like Milan.

we need to test Eder as starter and replace Candreva in the right flank. he attacks down the space very well and has menacing shooting ability. beside, it is not the first time Eder played in that position. and keep Joao Mario as trequartista. he probably would have more options to make some through passes, not only to Icardi.
