Yeah, the joke is on Inter and the only person laughing is Nagatomo. Seriously, what other club would possibly want him? The same goes for Santon and Biabiany. No club wants these players because they are shit and the only way we will get them off our books is when their contracts expire.

true but there is no reason why we can't laugh about that, too. after all, nagatomo's presence is just annoying rather than an actual problem, one more reason to laugh about it.

with dalbert coming in, yogatomo won't see the pitch other than in the training sessions.

And with any luck, given its a World Cup year, he might take the hint and leave in an attempt to make the Japanese national team.

Quote from Spalletti about Nagatomo in his interview to Sky Sports after the game:

"State attenti che Nagatomo è un buon giocatore, sa bene cosa deve fare, per alcuni aspetti è perfetto."

In other words, Nagatomo is a good player, he knows what to do, in some things he's perfect.

I can say that he's not going anywhere after these declarations, he's a trusted player for Spalleti. Good for Nagatomo

I never understood the hate. I think once people get it in their mind "he's the worst" - then they just look for reasons to confirm their hatred. Every slight misstep gets catastrophised and every achievement, forgotten. It's much like racism - if you already have an irrational hatred, then your pattern-seeking mind is just going to be going nuts trying vindicate its stance.

Keeping in mind that he's playing left-back, he's often up against the fastest and trickiest players in the league and he usually holds his own. Given all the wing backs we've had since Zanetti, only D'Ambrosio has been better than Yuto.

@RaulDuke I don't hate him, but it's easy to understand the hate he gets here or all over the internet amongst Inter fans. He's not exactly Inter material (if that's even a thing anymore...) and he's been here for far too long. I don't know how. A professional club can't settle for mediocre for so long just because he's a nice guy, good for the team off pitch etc. I really don't know.

He shouldn't be a starter, and at this stage we could do with perhaps a talented youngster as a backup. I just think he's survived because he has outperformed our other left backs. They have all crashed and burned, but he shouldn't be blamed for their failure. He was also bought on the cheap and doesn't drain high wages.

dude..nagatomo is miserable. no hate on him as a person but he belongs at Cesena, not at inter. I think most people who 'hate' on him understand that it isn't his personal fault but rather the fault of our club brass that he is still a starter and still at this club.

his performance on the pitch blows ass - no denying that though.
