BlueWhale, I think if we get sneijder he will play behind the strikers...

Motta can play in various midfield roles although he is considered most skilful as a defensive midfielder by many people. He will do well in the center of our three attacking midfielders.

he can only play for boca.... and he hasnt been all that great since he his 1st season back from Villareal...

like really no player at Boca or River right now is good enough for inter

Riquelme is good but u have to build a team round him. which essentially we don't want to do because getting rid of Ibra allows us a number of ways to work, to go back to working thru one player would be silly. Whilst he is immensely talented he plays the game at his pace (terribly slow) and if hes marked out the game the team who he plays for is in trouble. Granted if he is allowed to dictate a match IMO there is no1 better.

A 24 Squad isnt that big. I am guessing of that 24 players there is a chance Burdisso will be sold to make the squad 23, and wether Vieira leaves or not we will be getting another midfielder and MAYBE cassano...which will make our squad about 25 players. Not that big i suppose.

You have to remember we're getting also Arnautovic. And we need Obi to fill the final club-trained spot (Orlandoni, Santon, Balotelli).

Mourinho indeed wants a compact group. Management yet again can't provide him that because they've made some stupid deal in the past. This we have to admit. Mourinho can leave players out of the CL squad of course, like he did last season but it's not good for the whole group (harmony etc.) and also in practice when it comes to having training sessions.

So if we count Rivas, Obinna, Kerlon, Destro, Belec out of the squad right away, we have 25 players. We get rid of Burdisso+Vieira, we have 23. Arnautovic probably won't be part of the CL squad because of his injury so we can have two extra players. But we would have just way too many forwards if Cassano was included (Quaresma, Mancini counted as forwards).

Thing is, we really should start getting rid of these 100% leavers like Obinna, Rivas and Kerlon.

I agree with everything you said, but as i said before whoever Jose told the pllayers he didnt want to leave and if any of them will not have left by the end of the window, not one of them is going to see any games during the season. As far as Jose is concerned he already told the players to leave and has already omitted them from the quad. If we do get cassano, arnautovic and a midfielder then Mancini should have left but he doest want to leave. Suazo as far as i can tell Jose requested for him to stay since he is different than our strikers...which is true. So realsticly this is what it will look like next season. Also obi fills the final club trained spot in the CL list but i doubt he will train or play with the first team, jose would have took him to china for the lazio match.

Our squad can also be 26 if burdisso also decides not to leave. It should have been 24-23 if Suazo,Burdisso and Mancini would have left as expected but they all seem to want to stay.
