AFAIK, Laxalt can play as either LM or LCM because he does both offensive and defensive duties (unlike what was once written that he's the new Recoba - quite contrary a new Gargano, or compared to Davids by his agent or someone else I think)

Laxalt also rejected comparisons with former Inter and Uruguay forward Alvaro Recoba. “I don’t know why, we play in two completely different roles. I like the defensive and offensive phase, I run a lot and I always give my all. I think I’m a bit similar to Edgar Davids.”

As for Botta he can play SS or AM easily.

Now we can hope that when they play, they play well!

We already have 5 new players such Andreolli,Campagnaro,Laxalt,Botta (injured) and Icardi as everyone knows and also Duncan will come back from Livorno to stay.

I expect a good defensive midfielder like Nainggolan,another central back (I wish Ogbonna,not rumoured yet),a wide attacking forward (Lavezzi would suit well,as he proved for years under Mazzarri at Napoli),a couple of wingers (Zuniga would be ok) and a central forward hopefully.

A formation like this would make me confident to achieve the CL spot at least:

umm botta is much better at the wings, actually. the only time ive seen laxalt, he played on lw and he was good, never seen him at lcm. I think this 2 players would benefit much more from a 4-2-3-1

Zuniga is great, him and Naga on both sides would be deadly. I reckon Naga will improve alot under Mazzarri aswell.
However, Isla is 3 years younger, and could use for longer. But Zuniga is a safer option if we plan on getting results already next season.

I will be happy if we get either.. don't really mind whom. As the time goes I feel more and more confident about next season, Mazzarri isn't a guy who will accept shit players, we won't have to see anymore average players starting. Also lots of players can and will improve under him, you won't see anymore heavy drop in forms like last season, and I am hella sure about it.

Could do with a world class striker and bring the scudetto back home already next season Open your pockets MM, it's worth it!
I truly think the weak link will be our forward next season, Icardi won't bring us results already next season, and Palacio doesn't really suit the formation IMO. We will be great in any other position, but I fear the forward won't be good enough.

Would FFP really harm us that bad if we over-spend for next season, so getting that UCL spot is certain (40m), and maybe the scudetto?
Yeah you may call me optimistic but with aging Pirlo, Juve might change a bit next season. They won't be winning forever, and I am sure Milan will be able to compete with them next season. So why can't we?

This should be good enough to compete for the scudetto I reckon (40M from UCL guaranteed).

Explanation: Handa must stay. Rano & JJ should start, but if they are not good enough it's up to the coach to replace them, we should have some solid CBS. New proven CB, someone we should cash out for, someone who would also make Rano & JJ better, you can call him Samuel replacement (will be very hard to replace), if you like. Not some Napoli 3x year old reject.

Yuto=Class, he's got everything it takes to be a great wingback, I am sure Mazzarri will help making him one. Zuniga/Isla, as I mentioned before, either are welcome.

Kova=Must be a sure starter, I don't even mind if there might be better options on the bench, we must now start growing him to be a world class midfielder, cause he showed that he will be one, just about time and how we handle him.

So, put in him whatever position we have room in, if we get Fernando then it's CM surely. If not, he should stay at DM and build up our attacks. However, I agree, the thought of having a class player like him in a more advanced role is really tempting.

Fernando=Class player, could come in a good price aswell as we already know.

Paulinho or Nainggolan, both are great CMs. I haven't watched much of either so I won't say more than that. As the price should be the same for both (Maybe Naing a little cheaper), I don't really mind either of them.

Guarin=Now, mark my words, he will shine under Mazzarri. Despite what the "haters" say, I still think he's one of the best CMs in the league.

Now, as for our forward, I am not really sold on the thought of having both Palacio and Icardi in that formation. IMO both are similar, Palacio is class but aging, and speed was never one of his strengths. Icardi is still a huge gamble, as nobody knows how he would turn out. Having one of them starting is great, but if we really want to have a great forward aswell, it won't be enough IMO.

A class striker could take us to the next level, from 3rd spot to scudetto challengers, that's what I think. Now, not many class strikers would want to join, that's right, but IF we do manage to find one, spending 20-30m (If possible by FFP), will def be worth it. Just look how deadly Milan have became with a great force.

Offload//Don't sign: Samuel (Sadly), Chivu, Deki, Silvestre, Gargano, Cambiasso (unless he takes paycuts), Milito (Only renew if he accepts to earn as much as a bench player at the current Inter should), could say the same about JZ but I fear I'll be called a hater. Schelotto (Offload, Sell or kill, I wouldn't really mind)

Sell: Ricky (Sadly), Johny (Could keep as a backup aswell), Pereira (We probably can get decent sum of money for a player that wouldn't even be a starter), Cassano (Unless he accepts to take major paycuts, he's a gem and I want him to stay, but not at any cost)

Bench:

GK: Cast, Belec
Def: JZ, Campagnaro, Andreolli, Pasa, Pereira (rather sell him and invest that money elsewhere), some youth players and sign solid wb backup for a bit of money I assume, could also keep Johny.

MID: Mudingayi (He's still got a few more years in him and can be solid backup, for a little bit of money, also passionate and a fighter in a position where it actually matters), Kuzmanović, Obi, Benassi.. and, I really wanted to put Duncan in here aswell but I guess it would be
best to let him stay in Livorno for now.

FW: Sign one class striker, Icardi, Palacio, Milito (Paycuts!!), Cassano (!!stucyaP).
