Used to love doing them as a kid. Doing them now would just lead me to buying boxes of them off the internet for 1 player

Haha I only want James and pretty sure I can buy it online.

Best Neglected XI
(i.e. Players not going to the World Cup even though their NT is going)

Icardi
Sane - Nainggolan - Payet
Can - Paredes
Alonso - Koscielny - Mustafi - Cancelo
Leno

Others: Romero, Alex Sandro, Bellerin, Smalling, Dani Alves, Kondogbia, Rabiot, Pastore, Rafinha, Luis Alberto, Suso, Martial, Morata, Ibrahimovic, Benzema

Lot of Inter players here. Did I miss someone really good? For me, Nainggolan, Alonso, Icardi, and Cancelo are the biggest shockers. Soares over Cancelo, in what world?

EDIT: Sane is dropped!

Best Neglected XI
(i.e. Players dropped by their NT for World Cup, not including countries that did not qualify)

Icardi
Martial - Nainggolan - Payet
Can - Paredes
Alonso - Koscielny - Mustafi - Cancelo
Trapp*

Others: Romero, Alex Sandro, Bellerin, Smalling, Dani Alves, Kondogbia, Rabiot, Pastore, Rafinha, Luis Alberto, Suso, Morata, Ibrahimovic, Benzema

*Trapp is in the current 27, but expected to be dropped when Germany announce 23. If he is picked, whichever GK is dropped by Germany should take that place. Infact the other 3 players Germany drop will probably feature here somewhere.

Ibrahimovic was not neglected, he chose to retire. Don't know if Payet and Romero should count either, they are injured. I also don't know if there any better players, but I really don't think Koscielny, Mustafi, or Smalling are big misses.

What's the word on Salah? Is he going to manage to recover from the CL finals injury? Egypt is pretty much a dead team without him so I hope he's going to be ready.

http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/23402874/world-cup-rank-espn-fc#!relatedstories

ESPN ranked the top players of the WC..... Falcao Law all you want..... James being 34 is utter bullshit !!! Top player in 2014 who only got better is 34 but Henry Kane is 5th !!! Not even going to mention the rage mode it sent me over Falcao being 48th!!!

Crzd, who do you think gonna be stsrting line up for colombia in wc? Whos is gonna scored×assist more? Did jsmes will regain his world cup form back? How did arias chances to play?

*need some research for my fantasy team

Colombia plays

4-3-2-1

---------------Falcao-----------
Izquerido/Muriel-----------------Cuadrado
----James-----C.Sanchez-------Uribe
Arias----Mina-----D.Sanchez---Mojica
---------Ospina-----------------

Mina our CB scores a lot
Arias and Mojica are great at crossing and are known to score goals. Fabra starting Lb broke his knee this weekend. So Mojica will replace him.

Only player that will start that I say dont pick is Carlos Sanchez he can't pass or score

My 3 colombians are Falcao, James and Arias. Uribe is a great choice as is Davison Sanchez if you need a defender.

I expect at least 4 games. Tho will be disappointed if we don’t get pass England or Belgium.

After that who knows maybe we can beat Germany 1/100 times and that can be our 1 time haha.

Colombia is super super weak in the air, when teams are crossing against us. We also either go into the game a sleep like against France last month or are out of gas the last 15 minutes.

I would love us to win this thing but the team also seem to shit it’s pants against historical teams. Only teams I see above us are Germany and Brazil. Argentina is in the same boat as us either godlike or shit.

We played Spain, Belgium, France in their countries and did very well 2 wins, 1 tie. Not saying they can’t beat us. But it’s not as clear cut as many of you who only watch euro leagues think.

My recommendation is but Peruvian players. They will have a huge World Cup. Mark my words

I think the best teams this year are Brazil and Spain.

Germany and France are overrated, we already saw them in Euro 2016 and they dont improved.

Spain to me don’t have a striker

I really hope it’s a new winner. As long as it’s not Mexico can’t stand telemundo. They would take about it till the end of time.

Or England because in the US that’s the only NT people know. They are like is Germany better then England. I know Brazil and England are the best. I am just like go away

Diego Costa hasn't really performed that great for Spain, so I'm curious how much of a leash they give him before Aspas gets a shot.

Its not impossibile but its really hard to see a "suprise-winner". Did this even ever happen in the world cup history? Specialy Messico would be a big suprise to me that never happend in World Cup. Same as Belgium. But teams like England or Uruguay are still a small suprise if we consider how many teams are more favorite then them.

I think Spain is underrated (while like already said , Germany and France overrated)

No, underdogs have never won the world cup.

- - - Updated - - -

i'd say the closest it was to that happening:

. the u.s.a. were third in 1930, along with jugoslavia. surprising for the former and so remote in time that it needs some investigation through the newspapers of those days before being able to tell anything, i won't venture...

i certainly don't think we can't call hungary an underdog for their final in 1954, they were even the favourite team for the title. more or less same for austria, which were in semifinal in 1934, but it's known that it was a very good team back then.

- sweden, final in 1958. but then again, it was the world cup in their country (which at those times was a very important factor) and sweden wasn't much of an underdog, since they had reached the semifinal twice in previous editions.

- Czechoslovakia, final in 1962. but same as sweden: they were a very good team and had been third in the previous Eurocup and second in the following Olympic games.

- poland was third in 1974 and 1982.

- belgium 4th in 1986

- in 1994 sweden and bulgaria reached the semifinal

- croatia, 1998, third.

- in 2002 turkey and south korea reached the semifinal (we might have to discuss about the latter though)

The British media talk about 1966 as if it was 1968 right now instead of 2018... I pray that I do not see them win a World Cup in my life time.

Which media? All I have seen is, how this team lack experience and will be good for their experience, like building the team for future. Just because one or two random clown pundits says something doesn't mean the media talks like they are the best.

If you see England fans reactions, they have low expectations on this team.

Yeah Rodrigo or Aspas should be their striker. Costa can be their back up plan.

The country still celebrates winning the Jules Rimet like it was yesterday. Even the Scottish first minister made a joke a few days ago about how she'd like to see England win the world cup so they'd stop talking about 1966.

The media is ruthless when it comes to the current squad. And when I think back, the English press have always been stupidly harsh on the players. Even when England had a pretty strong squad in the mid 2000s, the media still hounded the players. Listen to most pundits talk, or analysis of England's chances in the World Cup and they'll eventually mention the World Cup in 1966. Maybe when the press lets go of that dusty old Jules Rimet trophy, they may cut the players some slack and let them play with less stress and they may even deliver a solid performance. From a standpoint of not having a favourable view of the English national team, I'm happy enough to see the press sabotage the team every 4 years. :p

I don't see anything wrong with them talking about 1966, it's their only win in major competitions. Apart from this, they didn't even make finals of either World cup or Euros. So I don't see problem with them celebrating their major success or talking about 1966 whenever world cup starts.

Media are usually harsh on players and also try to bring out any controversial stories for their clicks. Some pundits are just clueless wankers like Paul merson and few others but in general journalists don't have high hopes on their squad. Now and then they try to come up with positive article going by how good the mood in the camp is and how these young players are close to each other.

Anyways world cup without Italy and Netherlands is so bit boring.
