Yes, we are all Homer Simpsons and will be too mesmerized by their Donut Stadium to play football when we play away there. :D

Let it be, Its have always been like this, one year its 3 english teams in the semi finals (And all the UK's makes a big fuss about it and hail their league to be the best in the world), another year its 3 spannish or 3 italian teams in semi's but in then there is no talk about "best league in world yadayada".
Hopefully Liverpool its out now in group stage, cant ****ing stand that **** Steven Gerrard that first whine about other players diving then diving like a little pussy himself.

Rosenborg. They already did what we couldn't do: beat Valencia.... twice! If that isn't a swift kick to the nuts, I don't know what is. :p

If it isn't Rosenborg, I have a feeling it'll go back to Spain. Real Madrid, Barca and Sevilla (dark-horse) are all capable. Inter won't we even get past the 1st knockout round.... as per usual.

Two years ago: quarters with Villarreal
Three years ago: quarters with Milan
Four years ago: group stage
Five years ago: Semis with Milan

IIRC... ;)

1st knockout or QF's.... there isn't much of a difference too me. We end up losing in either of them and by some miracle we get to the Semi's, we'll run into Milan... if it doesn't happen earlier. And let's not even get into the Finals where our European "pedigree" really shines through:

Last Won: 1964/1965

Last Final: 1971/1972

If we want to win it, then we´ll have to run up against a big team at first knouckot or quarter, we have to beat them inorder to boost our confidence. We can´t make mistakes against minor teams.

We are so spoiled we always get good lotteries and we spoil the chances. For example if we would just hold the cleansheet we would faced arsenal and could´ve won and reach the final.

AC Milan, need I say more? ;)

Seriously, I think Milan and Barca are the main favorites to win it..Not that they just have great players and team in general, cause many clubs do as well, but it's about the experience and capability to deliver when it's needed the most..

Barca have won UCL only twice as well, don't farking know why people keep on saying Barca-Barca? They have such a large pedigree in Europe too, haven't they? :lala:

This is why I say that they are overrated as a club.

Barca has done better in CL than Inter that's for sure. And Max was not talking about having experience at winning the thing. Check again what he wrote ;)

Burdisso, Ibra,
I can only see one team from the UK winning CL this season and thats Chelsea.
Liverpool? No world class strikers (NO Torres aint one!) and Rafa will leave soon, im quite sure of it.
Man United? Can't see that happening. Will be outclassed by a more tactical team (like AC Milan last season).
Arsenal? Ehrm, they run out of steam soon. Very soon.

My favourites to the title: Chelsea or AC Milan.
Outsiders: Inter Milan. Barcá. Sevilla.

Man udt is sadly my best bet. Arsenal and barca has a fair chance as well.

Chelsea? no chance, they would be a beatable opponent for inter, since they arent a very fast moving team, alot like us.

Our progress in the cl rely's on if we can avoid the fastmoving/combination playing teams, because we all know we dont stand a chance in hell against them.

Liverpool, chelsea, real and milan would be beatable opponents. United, arsenal, barca and roma are the teams that absolutely must avoid to have a chance to get far in the competition.

First time I agree with Azzkikr. Actually I've holding more or less exactly the same opinions for some time now.

Logically one of those three should win it as they play the best football/have the best players. But you never know with teams that have nothing left to fight for come the knockout stages. Just look at Milan and Liverpool. Typical chokers in the league these last couple of years but they fight like there is no tomorrow in CL.

But it's impossible to predict the winners consistently becuase in my view there is maybe eight teams that can win it and a majority of them need more luck then others. Anything can happen. I'd say we have a reasonable chance of picking up the trophy if we can catch a break with injuries, but we are in no way favourites, no matter how the media pump it.

Burdisso, Ibra,
There is a reason the heavy tactical teams going far in UCL and not the speedy Arsenal or United. Like Mourinho once said "English team must change their way of playing compared to EPL in the Champions League to stand a chance" (Was something like that he said) and its so true... United was outclassed in every aspect since their way of fotboll is playing with speed, same goes with Arsenal and it dont work that way in Champions League.
I see Inter as a much bigger candidate to the Champions League title then Arsenal or even United.
