Well done Zenga. I personally think that he needs to stay there for another year and if Mancini fails to deliver next season, we can take the risk of appointing him as our coach.

Just imagine this, Zenga winning the Scudetto in his maiden year in Serie A in our centenary year. :proud:

That centenary year. I don't like it at all. Zenga could ligthen it up a bit, since our players don't give a ratass about it now nor they will give it in 2008. Zenga cares about it and he could do something to get those horses asses running and fighting.

But Zenga, didn't he also won the Rumenian title last season? :)

even though Zenga is my favorite player of all time, then I don't think he is quite ready to coach us yet. he need some more experience with bigger teams. but when he have done so I think we should consider it, but we also have to keep in mind that even though he was maybe the best goalie ever then he might not be a good coach, and that is what we need right now. until then we should get someone else.

Was Mancio ready back in the time? He's trainer experience was as short as Zenga's when he came here. Italian experience? Don't count for me. Mourinho don't have it, Benitez don't have it. He's experience came from playing career already. Zenga didn't have experiene when going to Serbia either, yet he won in his first season. If he's a great manager, then experience doesen't count at all.

But knowing Moratti, he won't come even if someone named Mourinho, Capello or Benitez would win us a Scudetto and resign next season.

If Zenga was as good as Jose, then no he wouldnt need any italian coaching.

Quite frankly tho, his not even close. I would only do him better coaching in italy again.

Well Helal, if next year Zenga was hired by, say, Benfica and then he delivers the SuperLiga, League Cup and CL or even UEFA Cup for them and Mancini fails to win again next season, bringing Liverani, S.Inzaghi, Oddo, Pandev, Couto, Nedved & S.Conceicao to Inter then...:D

Wishful thinking though...

well that would be another matter, but that is really unrealistic, I wouldn't even try to guess the chance for that happen. it would be something like a one out of a thousand. besides for my behalf he would have to win the cl, before I would even consider it with such a team the UEFA CUP is far from enough, since everyone can win it and I really don't rate it very highly.

besides I'm hoping that I'll get Mancini's head on a silver plate when this season has ended. and a extra plus would be to get Moratti and his board as well.

He doesn't absolutely need to coach in Italy but he does need a league with perhaps more competition than the Romanian or Serbian one. Bundesliga or Ligue 1 perhaps?

Nevertheless congrats to Zenga for his success in Eastern Europe. :proud:

I don't think walter will coach any other team but Inter in serie a. I don't think he would be willing knowing his affection for Inter could interfere with his duties when his side plays against Inter.

He still needs some exp but I don't think he needs to coach in italy. He knows the league and Inter very well so there really isn't much he could learn that he doesn't know by coaching another team in serie a.

Just a question, how can not having coached in Italy be a non-issue to those suggesting that Zenga could coach Inter in the future?

At least when Mancini took over, he coached Fiorentina and Lazio. Coaching Red Star and Steau are totally different to coaching in Italy. Traditionally, it is very hard to coach in Serie A and B and anyone suggesting that experience in the Peninsula is not needed is being a little naive.

Zenga was at the club when we won our last Scudetto but times have changed since then. More to the point, 17 years have passed the fans are burdened with expectations, the players are burdened with the club's history and lack of success and Moratti owns the club. Zenga needs a little more than a title with Red Star to give him the necessary qualifications to coach Inter.

Great coaches have to coach great teams. If great teams do not want to "create" great coaches, then we would not have great coaches... What experience did Capello had before controlling Milan? Or Ancelotti? Or Lippi?
If you want coaches that have won everything there is, and that would lack interest in winning more stuff, that's your problem ;) Zenga has an Inter heart, that's enough to yell at any Inter player if he believes he is not "treating" his shirt properly... That's what we need. Not mercenaries...

Zenga, uno di n
Well at least Zenga has won somthing in his coaching career, now actually two years in a row, unlike some of our recent coaches. And don't you guys underestimate his achievements, just because he won in Romania and Serbia. It isn't any easier there than in Italy.

Zenga has Inter in his heart, he's always had, since childhood. Every interista would accept him with open arms, including curva. He would have a great authority within the team. I honestly think he might e the answer to our questions.

I'd love to have Zenga coaching us, definitely. But I feel like he has to prove himself in Serie A before.

Walter Zenga is one of the best coaches.I personally think that he should be our coach in the next season.Maybe he is not proved as coach in Italy, but he did prove his abbilities in Serbia, and it is years ago proved that his favourite team is Inter. That means he would give everything he has got for Inter, including his heart

I don't know about this whole Zenga-thing...

Sure, he has heart and love for the team, but I seriously doubt his coaching abilities at this point...

Give him a few more years and then we'll see.

I say we stick with Mancio, or we go for Mourinho ! :star:

I obviously have to agree with those who could see Zenga coaching us sometimes in the future. I believe getting him now would be an emotional rather than rational decision. He still need a few years coaching experience under his belt before we could let him lose in the circus of ours. I’m glad that I saw him play many years yet, I don’t think he is the one who could tame these spoiled brats we currently have in our
squad. ;)
