So Guarin is going to be the "Hamsik" of this new Inter team... I have to say that doesnt convince me at all, its most certainly a role Guarin cant fill the shoes for.

Thats kinda like saying Stankovic of 5+ years ago should be the Frank Lampard of the team.

Hamsik is a much more intelligent player, with a far better shot and passing ability. Hamsiks goal/assist stats are very impressive, while Guarin has shown quite a few times that he would have trouble hitting a barn door from 2 meters away, not to mention very poor decision making when it comes to passing. If anything Guarin should be told to take less chances, make the safe pass more often and not shoot even half as much.

A player of fairly limited intelligence and technical ability like Guarin should not have any playmaking duties. Guarin has other strengths, both getting the ball forward and when defending, but in the final third of the opponents half he should never be the go-to guy.

Nagatomo on the right wing is certainly not ideal either. If we can get Isla that might improve it abit.

But in the end, the "new" Inter probably wont even look like this, we will have to wait and see.
Guarin's an odd one, but I don't think Hamsik's shoes are too big for him to fill. The entire role is essentially about sparking counters and arriving late in the box, however you choose to do it. Guarin has shown on numerous occasions that he's really good at carrying the ball forward on a counter, and his power in the box is pretty impressive.
As for his shooting, from long range it's awful, but his close range finish is actually good.

man, you are so wrong. am's need to be able to think really fast, something guarin cant.

guarin is a pure box to box, and he could really shine with the right guidance. as am however, he will fail 9 out of 10 times.

Well, Guarin does not need to be exactly like Hamsik... just like Napoli have no one like Kovacic. I think when someone says that Guarin will do the Hamsik role, all they mean is that he will shoulder more of the responsibility of taking the ball forward and making runs into the penalty area - the two things he is good at.

Of course Guarin cannot be a Hamsik. But he does not need to be.

The thought of seeing Guarin in such an important role troubles me abit. At the same time I understands Inter, due to financially difficulties, cannot bring in top notch players in every position. But at the same time again, there is rumour of this new investor, which if true could change everything. Well, if he proves not to be the cheap bastard the wiki tells us. :eek:blivious:

Cassano :fap:

Pfttt, even Schelotto looked good in that clip. And Cassano probably had to be substituted during the training match

So I take it Mazzarri's presentation is delayed until the club decides whether he'll be photographed holding the Inter jersey with either Moratti or Thohir ? Or maybe both ?

Reports are suggesting that Moratti has reached an agreement with Thohir about the upcoming presentations:

MM will be presenting Walter the boss, holding an Inter shirt, smilling & shit. A few weeks later, Thohir will be presenting Hulk & Lavezzi, holding hands, hugging, giving them a kiss on each cheek, while all look happily at the cameras & holding Inter shirts.

The motto of the presentation would be "Let's get out there & win some trebles people!" :proud:

Historians would later refer to this particular moment in Inter's history as the moment of AUW :proud: :') :proud:

I'm angry at myself because I'm starting to get optimistic about next season, sometimes being a fan sucks.

How can you not be optimistic with Mazzarri and his team as manager ???
