Forgot to congratulate on the very special performance of Torino.

Perhaps we should consider bringing him back in place of Spaletti rather than Conte. His tactical ingenuity would bring a lot to this team, and perhaps we can finally play the 352 everyone seems to hope for on this forum.

Forza Mazzarri.

Wallace, why this love for Mazzarri?
He is one of the very low rated coach in our recent history.
Not from me. I kinda like the guy. He had the misfortune to come here in maybe our worst period. If you look at the material, he needed to work with, it's embarrassing! He didn't make himself the life easier, but I don't believe that other coaches would have obtain better results with that roster.

His tactical ingenuity as I said.

He laid down the foundation of us overloading the wing, constructed the ground work of our attack, which lasted to this day.

It helped us qualified the champions league, played like a competitive team against Barcelona, Tottenham, and PSG. Not to mention his temporary conversion of Kovacic into a assist machine and goal scoring midfielder that allowed us to commit the biggest fradulant deal in the history of football, with Real Madrid being the unlikeliest victim. There are countless of other things such as developing Icardi, converting Alvarez into an above average midfielder, and introduced tiki taka into the team that was a bless to the eyes for fans in Giuseppe Meazza.

We need to thank him for his work, and his commitment to the team. We could all saw that how he diverted attention away from the team by biting bottles in front of the camera. It was an eccentric method, but it worked.

Forza Mazzarri.

actually, it seems to me that torino played an awful game, too. they weren't even better than us, only luckier. lautaro's shot went out, izzo's header was deflected in such a way that caught handanovic off guard.

It was a bit shaky at the start.

But we have managed to mark out the World Class midfielder Nainggolan out of the game and have successfully defended the league for 60 minutes without letting Inter get back into the game.

It was a solid performance overall.

Everyone gets a chance once it a while, it's impossible to shut everything up when Inter threw everything at us with multiple attacking substitutes. I don't see anyone complain about a lack of defensive solidity when Messi curled a shot that was barely saved by Julio Cesar or Pique's chance in dying minutes in 2010.

Fact is, we sat back and absorbed everything we could, and the result reflected it.

There's always an element of luck involved in games, but for that luck to be involved, Mazzarri had to at least get the tactical direction correct, and he was pretty much spotless in this game.

Haters gonna hate tbh.

Mazzarri > Leonardo = Benitez > Spalletti > Mancini as far squad options&results goes.

Mazzarri wasn't enjoyable, but somehow his tactics worked. If he had this squad, he'd have more points than Spalletti.

Sometimes I need to remind myself how much I look forward to games now compared to when this cunt was here. We played the absolute worst and most boring football I've ever seen under Mazzarri. Players aside, his whole system was just so rigid and ugly. I fucking hated watching our games when he was here. Beat Sassuolo 6-0 one week, potentially lose 3-0 to Chievo the next.

I hope we are forever past shitter coaches like him.

Which system did you find rigid?

He played two different ways before and after the January transfer window of the first season.

Or did you mean both? If that’s the case then you are just yet another hater.

Mazzarri layed out the framework that coaches like conte and gasparini get credit for. Unsung hero.

The only difference between Conte and Mazzarri is Conte has significantly better players.

So do you think last season would've gone the same if it were Mazzarri as coach?

Yes.

They are both cowards, who are stubborn and incapable of adjusting to their opponents tactically.

How far do you think Conte would have gotten with Guarin as his best midfielder and the likes of Kuzmanovic and Mudingayi as depth? Or if he had Palacio as his top striker instead of Lukaku?
