Gargano is rubbish. His passing is atrocious and more often than not leads to turnovers. Gargano and Pereira are two of our worst players and I truly hope that neither player will be at Inter next season.

Am i the only one that thinks Gargano is not a bad signing and is a type of player that can be used effectively given the right system?

Nope. I agree, and I think he has been a lot more helpful this year than people give him credit for. God knows our energy in midfield is all but non-existent without him. A midfield with Kuzmanovic needs 2 Gargano's.

Gargano for 5 mils is not the end of the world, in fact is quite decent transfer.

Some people here really have a strange relationship with money. 5 millions is not the end of the world? True. But it's a waste. How much did we spend on Schelotto? Also 5 millions? We spend millions and millions in transfers or wages of players everybody knows they are decent average - when things will turn out well.

Look at Dortmund. The spent less than 5 millions on players like Hummels, Subotic, Lewandowski. I think they didn't even spend a half million for Kagawa. Gündogan with around 5 millions was one of their most expensive transfers in the last years!

And even when I look at some Bayern transfers last season ... They spend a lot of money and I can't remember one of their players being a steal. But on the other hand: How much would we have spent for players like Mandzukic (13 millions) or Shaqiri (11 millions)?

People still blame him as the reason we don't have Poli.( I miss the hot sister pics)

Gargano is a good player better than most of our Mfs but some people think Duncan after 1 season on loan next year is going to start over Gargano :) or that Obi who has probably been injured as long as Stank has these past 2 seasons is somehow or will somehow be better than Gargano.

So disappointed with this dude. To hell with him him, and to hell with all these 1-dimensional players we bring in that have such glaring deficiencies in their games that it outweighs their strengths. Gargano can pressure opponents, but what good is that when he just turns around and give the ball right back? Kuzmanovic can pass, but he makes Pirlo look like a proper destroyer. Schelotto can... run... kind of?

Schelotto runs like a 3 legged horse with dementia.

And personally I have no problem with one-dimensional players, as long as they are exemplary at their 'one' dimension. To put it in simplistic terms, I liken it to a video game. If Kuzmanovic has a passing 'rating' of 7/10 and 2/10 for everything else, it means passing is his standout attribute and he's crap at everything else, but in the scheme of things, 7/10 is nothing special either.

One dimensional players like Xavi, Pirlo, Gattuso etc are dying out. But that doesn't bother me and like I said, I have nothing against using one-dimensional players, as long as they are pretty damn good at their primary skill, and as long as they are managed properly in the correct tactical setup. These days it's all about multi-dimensional players who can do a bit of everything, like Yaya Toure. We have to be careful not to buy cunts who seem 'multi-dimensional' but in reality are just average at everything while excelling at nothing, like Gary fucking Neville.

I agree with alot of what you just mentioned but in the majority of cases, players at that level should not be one dimensional. I find it disappointing that a player can only have one good trait and be ordinary or poor in others. To not be able to play in atleast 2 different roles is insane considering this is an elite level.

The guy is only good when inside our half. I have found it laughable that he has tried to pass ( even long pass ) balls in the opposing half where he fails on every single try. We definitely don't need such a DM in our side and now that Kovacic occupies the regista postion, Gargano at "CM" would simply be an epic fail.

We tried so hard to get rid of Muntari, only to get the poor man's Muntari (Gargano).

But it is also true that unless we can afford a decent DM, we cannot let Gargano go. So it depends on the budget and the priority of our transfer market startegy.

I doubt we can find another player with that much energy.

A lot of people rate strikers by their goal scoring records, rate midfielders by the passing accuracy or number of assists.

But Gargano is da best midfield if we are measuring by the energy level of midfielders.

Gargano's stamina and "energy level" :)lol:) might not be one of the best. But the drive he has and the sprints he makes in the 90th are far greater than any other player we have would offer. You cant argue on that.

He did have one amazing game in EL this year. Almost scored a freekick even. The problem is not about whether we need a DM with better passing skills. It's about whether we have the proper tactical set-up.

What really pissed me off is Strama using Gargano as a CM in early 2013. Will anyone in the right mind use Makelele (or God forbids, Ray Parlour :yao:) to organise the attack? HELL NO!

Give him simple task.

1) Run horizontally (E-W) not vertically (N-S) on the pitch.
2) Tackle like a bulldog
3) Pass it to the closest teammate.

Done. Nothing more. I guarantee you, he'll look like the fucking best DM in history. But Gargano in CM? Ha!

FIF on Gargano's transfer in the beginning of the season:

Good job management! This is a great transfer, it also makes us remember you can still do great signings even with a low budget! ... I think [this transfer season] has the been the best one in recent years...

WELCOME GARGANO , best choice after Sahin.

DAMN I feel so happy with this transfer

oh treble.. here we come.

Sweet signing one I'm much more happy with then De Jong or Fernando ... He'll add much more value to team IMO ...

A much needed upgrade to our midfield!!

No one expected him to be this bad. :palm:

I still stand by the opinion that he hasn't been as bad as it seems. Its the system which is at fault, and the fact that midfielders beside him can't do shit or even move.
