He was from a club in Porto called Salgueiros u close for 3 years so back them he goes at young age to Benfica, he failed there it consists at that time he don't like that club and hate the city, and others say he was caught with FC Porto flag him the room when we was at Benfica facilities, he wanna go to the North of Portugal again so Benfica let him go free to Guimarães and his city club Vitória, there he don't much too getting to the young World cup of Canada without playing much so he was not tired like others player there we do great games and Inter thinks got a good future player and buy him to the Portuguese team, become sensation and do some very good games, Mou comes and wants Q7 Porto wants money and Inter suggest Pele and Porto wants it to, comes to Porto and gets some bad habits, go to England once again bad habits, now he's becoming that kind of player we all now that gonna fail for sure.

Ask people who thought we're selling a future superstar. They should know best, and you shouldn't find it hard to find them, as many were outraged when Pele was included in Quaresma deal.

But guess what. Our management got it right, AGAIN, despite so many tears.

People thought we're giving away the new golden child, just because he hit a screamer in lost game against Roma, and because he was young (a known fetish around here - young = great future player in 90% of the cases). From the moment I found out about this deal I didn't make much about it. I've said the kid is young (might have some pottential), but didn't show anything much, besides the fact that Mancini plays him here, and there.

At this time, I can guarantee you, not many of us even know where he is playing at the moment.

If we had only sold Pelé (without Q7 involved) then we can rather say the management got it right. Apart from that of course I agree that it proves he ain't nothing special overall.

As for the deal itself, it is widely known fact, that the Quaresma choice was Mourinhos. So we have to seperate the buisness part, from the "choice" part. Brancas & Co job in this deal was the finance one. And from this point of view they did splendid deal. Porto wanted 30 mln, holded to that price for a long, long time. In the end we paid 18 mln + future clauses (which weren't paid from what we know). 30 mln comparing to paid 18 mln is a great deal.

So I say in this case, management got it right, Jose got it wrong

why do you keep bringing up quaresma?

as for pele he was loaned by benfica to portsmouth and villareal but flopped at both clubs, he is now playing for turkish club Eskisehirspor

If the seller asks ridiculous price, it's not a merit for the buyer to lower the price to a still-too-high-price. It just shows the seller couldn't rape the buyer up in the ass, but only trick him to buy stuff for a too high price.

It is ridiculous now, because you know how the story ended. Quaresma might be valued now at 5 mln Euros, but back then he was the star of Porto, and Porto every year got 30mln+ for their stars.

The facts are those:

- There is no "real" value that can be somehow calculated, there is only how much a buyer is willing to spend, and how much a seller wants to get
- Porto wanted for him 30 mln
- Porto received in the end 18 mln

ps. It is very, very, very unlikely that Porto valued their best player at the time at the 30 mln range. In fact, I don't think anybody would believe it. I've even heard a Porto fan saying they valued him the most out of all their previous sales, and that was 35-40 mln.

Inter don't share such info. At the time of the transfer it was reported the extra €6 million was tied to winning the cl.
