United Arab Emirates (Why should I go there?)

Ok guys from UAE or those who know more about UAE, could you please tell me as to why and how going to UAE would be a good option for me. If I go there, it would be to work in a Chinese company based in UAE.

I would be grateful if you guys could reply me right away.

Great place to spend time but to work there wouldnt be my first choice for the following reasons.(Assuming its Dubai)
1-Too hectic of a lifestyle
2-High rents
3-Traffic jams are a biatch
4-High inflation

Other than that great things are
1-People from all over
2-hospitable people
3-great shopping
4-There is always something to do
5-Inter might play the SuperCoppa there instead of USA <--Should be no.1 reason.
6-Close to Bahrain where i reside <--maybe this should be the no.1 reason

If the company is in construction or banking you will have access to the whole of the ME there..

Tell me more about your job. You need money to stay in this city. Im born and bred here so I have lived here for 22 years. Fact is if you dont make AED 8k-10k a month, you cant own a car, or live in a nice place(its difficult to find one) or go out and enjoy everyday. To buy your own apartment you need to make atleast 15000 AED a month, key word there is atleast.

This place is expensive and even though I would love to have you here , fact is dont come and get stuck here because you can only leave your company after you complete a year of service... the visa rules here change everyday.

Traffic, etc like Ziyad said. All true.
Bottom line is if you make money you live like a shaikh. If you dont, then dont take the risk because you will hate it here. Its no longer a place for not-well-to-do people.

Thats a given ... dude, our bus stops are also airconditioned now. So if you're not a construction worker or manual laborer, then I dont think you need to work in the heat... even they have noon to 3pm break from July 1, which is compulsory.

Prav, Saudi is cheaper than all gulf countries I believe. The only problem is that if you are not used to the life style (or lack of it), you might struggle. But most companies have compounds for their employees where it's a complete opposite from the normal streets. If you have a choice, live in the east coast (specially Khobar/Dhahran.) It's freer than most of the country and you got a lot of foreigners.

If you want to save money, go to Saudi; if you want entertainment etc. then it's not the best place.

Hamoud, I think I have opted for UAE; that is if I am still getting that job. Not sure yet coz I asked them for some time the last time they contact me, lol.

I think I would like to go to Abu Dhabi, coz there are few ppl I know and its also a bit cheaper than Dubai, it seems. I am not exicted with all these but the main reason being to get some valuable experience in a good company of my field.

Lets hope everything goes out good for me and my career, lol.

HOT. There's no doubt that it's damn hot there. But I heard that, us normal workers won't have to worry much about that (unlike labour workers), as said by Suneet. I just hope that the $$ would be enough to live a normal life. Don't worry guys, your Pravesh has been able to drink since a year coz of some health reason (not serious huh, have had jaundice twice and am a gilbert syndrome patient uptil now I guess). I do miss those days..

It's not only for construction work. Some companies work from 9:00-13:00 then 3 hours break and back to work from 16:00-20:00. Sounds strange but people get used to it. In 3 hours you can go home, have lunch then sleep for 1 hour. You don't get tired a lot

and my car is GCC specification model..and a luxury Nissan, i.e. an Infiniti, the problem is it has black leather interior... so it gets hot in the sun...

Speaking of car standards, I remember once we got a car for a good deal from the US and it was shipped to us. We were happy with the deal until we realized that the car would heat and stop during the summer! I had to drive for few minutes during the day, park and rest it for few minutes then carry on
